UL FSRI is the division within UL's not-for-profit organization (NFP) that is dedicated to increasing firefighter knowledge to reduce injuries and deaths in the fire service and in the communities they serve. If so, this job is for you! We are looking for a Digital Content Developer who will help to elevate our outreach, strengthen our bonds with the fire services, reach new audiences and create life-changing impact.

In your first year, you will work to maintain & expand the reach, recognition, and engagement of UL FSRI with target audiences through digital channels and networks, and will help develop and manage impactful UL FSRI digital communications internally and externally.

As a key role within UL FSRI and overall UL NFP, this position is responsible for maintaining community aspects of the UL FSRI digital ecosystem - including digital content development, publishing, responding, monitoring, and synchronizing across social media channels, digital properties and internal assets to expand the reach and audience for UL FSRI.

This position reports to the UL NFP Director of Communications, is accountable to the UL FSRI team, and will:

  • Assist to develop the digital communication strategy, manage program implementation, digital communications, content development, distribution and monitoring to leverage thought leadership and expertise of UL FSRI.
  • Coordinate key initiatives and messages and execution to align with larger UL NFP and UL enterprise strategy and highlight major UL FSRI initiatives (research projects, public safety awareness campaigns, eLearning programs).
  • Manage relationships with digital agencies and external partners to coordinate messaging, content development, translations and social campaigns to further strengthen engagement with key audiences and extend UL FSRI reach and target audience engagement.
  • Foster relationships with web-based influencers and complimentary organizations and associations to understand trends, programs and new opportunities for UL FSRI to target audiences.


Qualifications:

  • University degree in community management, marketing, communications, public relations or a related discipline with 3 - 5 years of experience, content development and digital communications with significant social media and communications background.
  • Not for Profit experience preferred as part of program team, digital and content experience preferred.
  • Some travel required (up to 20%).
