Responsibilities:

The Business Analyst within Finance Shared Services (FSS) provides strategic, financial and operational support to the FSS Leadership team for planning and evaluation. From the analysis of business issues (industry trends, strategic enablers, best practices), to the creation and execution of organizational initiatives (continuous improvement projects, benchmarking studies, self service enablers), this role provides a unique opportunity for the right candidate to help facilitate the continuous improvement of UL's finance shared services.

  • Identify opportunities for consolidation and integration of existing business / finance systems to reduce complexity, improve data flow through, and drive process efficiency
  • Project Manage streams of work as part of the Finance Shared Service roadmap including developing business cases, project plans, communications and ensuring timely completion of deliverables
  • Work with leaders to identify gaps in "current state" and desired "future state", leading to recommendations that significantly improve operational efficiency and effectiveness
  • Networks with vendors and peers in external organizations, through user groups, in order to remain current with emerging technologies to satisfy the company's needs
  • Assume ownership of other activities as requested by Finance Shared Service leadership


Qualifications:

TECHNICAL AND COMMUNICATION SKILLS:

  • Articulate with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent analytical skills and demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

University degree plus generally 2-4 years direct related work experience

Demonstrated ability to independently identify needs for projects or programs, formulate objectives, plan and execute projects and/or programs, and manage programs

Cross-functional understanding of other accounts groups, in particular Procurement, Payables, Receivables and General Ledger

Experience within ERP systems (particularly Oracle) within a multinational organization (preferred)

Training / Certification in Lean Six Sigma methodologies (preferred)
