HVAC/R Technical Industry Advisor

Overview:

The HVAC/R Technical Industry Advisor will be responsible for actively participating in key industry technical committees such as AHRI, ASHRAE, and AHAM to build credible technical expertise in the area of HVAC/R Performance Testing. Additionally, this position will seek to forge stronger relationships with AHRI and the entities responsible for managing HVAC/R Energy-Efficiency Programs and Regulatory/Compliance activities such as U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), as well as their consultants. This position will provide daily technical support to UL's global Sales Teams through customer interaction and joint customer visits as required, as well as provide technical training to Sales Teams as needed. Will interface and work closely with UL HVAC/R Performance Testing Engineering staff to offer technical training and support as required. Finally, this position will be responsible for the development of technical training seminars and materials that can be delivered to UL customers and industry demand drivers.

Responsibilities:

S trong experience with respect to Performance Testing of HVAC/R Products is required, as well as a solid understanding of HVAC product technology and global energy-efficiency requirements. An overall basic knowledge of the testing and certification industry is desired, but not mandatory, as long as the candidate has solid fundamental experience with the testing and certification of HVAC/R Products, and demonstrate an aptitude for quick learning. The ability to understand basic business principles is important, since they will be assisting Commercial and Business Development in identifying new opportunities that may be identified as a result of their activities within the industry technical committees and specifications writing groups. Strong communication and presentation skills are also required for this position, as engagement with industry stakeholders will be expected via seminars, webinars, speaking engagements, and white papers.
