Workforce Relations Services Team Member (Limited Term)

Description:

Performs day-to-day activities to coordinate activities related to labor relations and employee relations on behalf of Sutter Health. Supports the labor contract proposal process by drafting and revising proposals. Works with other HR teams (such as HR Data and Reporting team) and non HR teams to fulfill information requests to support labor relations activities. Coordinates the end-to-end processes for managing HR policies under the guidance of the Team Lead. Coordinates ordering temporary staff in a timely manner in the event of strikes. Coordinates the deployment of Experience of Work employee opinion survey. Coordinates with other HR teams primarily HR Data & Reporting to collect and provide appropriate data to HR Business Partners to support Employee Relations processes such as grievances, investigations, agency complaints or lawsuits.Partners with other HR Team Members to effectively coordinate labor relations and employee relations activities on behalf of Sutter Health and to help build a high-performing HR Service Delivery Team. Responds to regular performance feedback and helping in orientation and appropriate training of team members.Supports the success of a high-performing shared services organization by helping to champion and drive the long-term Sutter Shared Services vision. Helps foster an environment in which continuous improvement in business processes and services is welcomed and recognized. Participates in programs and in using tools in support of building a high performance culture via the standard Sutter Shared Services responsibilities (e.g. performance measurement, people development, customer relationship management, etc.).

Qualification:

Education AA/AS degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or Industrial Relations or equivalent experience required. Experience • Experience in a workforce relations (employee relations or labor relations) function is desired • Experience of working with multiple processes and serving multiple customers is required • Experience in a health care setting is preferred • Experience in a service delivery environment is desired • Experience with a start-up organization is a plus Knowledge • Familiarity with national labor market trends and the development of effective processes to support / operationalize labor relations or employee relations strategies desired • Must have a general concept of the contemporary definition of human resources management • General knowledge of labor relations or employee relations best practice processes, systems or tools that enable collective Workforce Relations Services Team to support all Sutter Health employees • General understanding of HR functions including labor relations or employee relations and associated applications • Knowledge of HR related Federal and State laws including labor laws • Knowledge of labor contract negotiation and Collective Bargaining Agreement processes • Knowledge of shared services center / contact center operations and associated human resource issues and solutions Skills • Ability to perform day-to-day Workforce Relations Services team activities to ensure that customer priorities are met • Ability to communicate ideas both verbally and in writing to influence others and strong listening skills • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external clients • Ability to coordinate with other human resources team members to deliver seamless customer service • Ability to analyze data, identify information trends and determine solutions • Ability to identify concerns before they become problems, and to propose solutions to the concerns • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment • Ability to adapt to a changing environment and adaptability to changing priorities and working with multiple customers • Ability to navigate HR information management systems to perform analysis and generate reports as needed • Requires accuracy, attention to detail, organization and prioritization skills • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and HR systems and applications • Requires the ability to work with and maintain confidential information
