The Mobile Calibration Technician is responsible for performing on-site calibration, maintenance, and repair of various instruments and equipment at customer locations. This role requires technical proficiency in calibration procedures, the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, and exceptional customer service skills. The technician will ensure all equipment is functioning accurately and in compliance with industry standards and regulations

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct on-site calibration of instruments and equipment, including measuring devices, sensors, and control systems.
  • Perform troubleshooting and diagnostics on malfunctioning equipment to identify and resolve technical issues.
  • Verify the accuracy and performance of instruments through routine testing and calibration.
  • Document all calibration activities, including test results, equipment performance, and service reports.
  • Provide training and technical support to customers on equipment usage, calibration, and maintenance procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant standards, regulations, and company procedures.
  • Maintain and manage calibration certificates and service documentation in line with industry requirements.
  • Assist in the installation and setup of new equipment as required.
  • Work closely with customers to ensure high levels of satisfaction and address any concerns regarding calibration services.
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of calibration techniques, tools, and industry trends.
  • Travel to customer sites as needed, ensuring safe and timely arrival for scheduled appointments.

Qualifications:

  • 5 year minimum experience
  • Experience in calibration and maintenance of technical equipment, preferably in a mobile or field setting.
  • Strong understanding of industry calibration standards
  • Proficiency with calibration tools and diagnostic equipment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with customers professionally.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to customer locations as required.

DOT Prerequisites:

Employment will be contingent upon the successful completion of all prerequisites required by the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) / Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations, including a physical and medical certification.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with mobile calibration services or field technician work.
  • Familiarity with various types of equipment, including temperature, pressure, and flow instruments.
  • Knowledge of calibration software and digital systems.
  • Prior experience working in a customer-facing role.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work in various environmental conditions (indoor/outdoor, hot/cold).
  • Ability to drive and navigate to various job sites.
