Kansas Health Science University-Kansas College of Osteopathic Medicine (KHSU-KansasCOM) is seeking an Admissions Event Coordinator to join our team.

Reporting to the Director of Admissions, the Admissions Event Coordinator serves in a critical role focused on applicant visit and interview experiences, in addition to coordinating all Admissions-related events. The event coordinator is responsible for all logistics related to each event and working with internal departments and outside vendors when applicable, to ensure seamless execution. The event coordinator is an important member of the Admissions team and assists with various additional responsibilities to support the institution's enrollment goals. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, articulate, results-driven, and mission-focused.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Serves as the key point of contact and coordinator for Admissions related on-campus events such as Open Houses, Accepted Student Day, high school group visits, and prospective student tours.
  • Works closely with campus facilities, security, academic affairs, external catering services and community vendors when applicable to ensure all aspects of the event are thoroughly organized.
  • Acts as the primary point of contact and coordinator for all applicant Interview Days, ensuring adequate coverage for interviews and that applicants receive all necessary information in advance.
  • Ensures accurate record-keeping by regularly updating interview registration and attendance records within the designated systems and tracking event outcomes.
  • Acts as the primary liaison with our marketing department at The Community Solution related to event support for admissions.
  • Assist in coordinating the scheduling of admissions events throughout the year, including virtual information sessions for prospective students.
  • Collaborate with admissions team and Director to identify promotional materials and communications for events.
  • Provides campus tours to prospective students when necessary.
  • Assists in responding to prospective student inquiries when necessary.
  • All other duties as assigned to support the enrollment goals of the institution.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Experience in higher education or medical school admissions preferred.
  • Knowledge of CRM systems and online event registration platforms.
  • Ability to balance multiple projects and priorities, while managing deadlines, with a focus on positive results.
  • Embodies a team focused spirit and a commitment to collaboration.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 3-5 years of experience working in a professional environment.  Preference given to candidates with events-related experience.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work occasional evening or weekend hours for special events.
  • Ability to travel to national conferences when necessary.

Working Conditions:

Normal office environment.

Physical Requirements

•             Occasional ability to lift or move up to 10 pounds
