Global Merchant Network Services (GMNS) has relationships with millions of merchant businesses, in more than 25 countries, and delivers over $1.5T in spend. The people, processes, and technology that support this vital function are evolving to improve the merchant experience and economics. The Global Strategy & Capabilities (GS&C) team’s mission is to deliver a best-in-class premium merchant experience that will get merchants to not only accept American Express, but openly welcome and recommend us to their customers.
The Global Policy & Standards (GPS) team within GS&C develops American Express Partner and Merchant Policy, Standards, and Programs to remain competitive, support new products & capabilities, improve data quality, and promote compliance. TheBusiness Analyst, Global Policy & Standards, is a member of the policyteam responsible for ensuring American Express policies, rules, and requirements are communicated to our third-party acquiring Partners globally. We do this bycollaborating with regional Acquisition teams and General Counsel’s Office on publishing standalone operating regulations, advising on contract language,and managing external communication channels such as the Amex360 partner-facing web portal where official documents can be downloaded.
We are seeking a highlymotivated and reliable individual who is eager to learn new concepts, loves to problem solve, and has attention to detail. This is a fast-paced role on the front lines of the evolving payments landscape and the Business Analyst may be involved in a number of assigned projects that may include developing and maintaining internalguides and training materials;reviewingcontract language; facilitatingregional Acquisitionteam discussion forums;managing access to and content on our various internal and external communication platforms, and creating and maintaining documents and document repositories in support of a strong control environment.
Responsibilities include:
- Manage a PMO ensuring semi-annual policy refresh processes and milestones are met according to plan, including scheduling meetings, sending reminders, and engaging key stakeholders as needed.
- Provide support for evolving policy initiatives, including tracking progress on policy consolidation, language harmonization,andintegration of third-party intake and governance processes with GPS.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders on the drafting, delivery, and refresh of key communications (guides, procedures, process maps)in support of third-party policy interpretation and adherence.
- Learn the full features and capabilities of the external web hosting platform (Amex360) in order to manage access, organize and assign content, and execute communications through the platform.
- Learn the full features and capabilities of the intranet site (The Square) to managethe curation, organization,and promotion ofcontentregarding third-party policy and related processes.
- Develop and keep currentdocumentation on publication-related terms of reference, standard operating procedures, and process flows forcontrol management purposes (i.e., PRSAs, RCSAs).
- Maintain and keep current an internal archive of third-party policies and records of stakeholder approvals for audit purposes; provide support for audits as requested.
- Support the scheduling and facilitation of global stakeholder meetings and regional Acquisition team forums, i.e., preparing agendas, collecting input, distributing minutes as requested and ongoing.
- In time, this role may be assigned to manage the end-to-end processes related to the semi-annual refresh of assigned policy documents, playbooks, or other official GPS publications.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated organizational, planning, and project management skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to read and interpret legal language
- Quality orientation and attention to detail
- Networking, relationship building, interpersonal, and time management skills
- Ability to work independently, be resourceful, andmanage and progress multiple projects simultaneously, and prioritize workload in order to meet assigned deadlines.
- Experience in and/or strong familiarity with the Merchant acquiringorganization, processesand procedures, and stakeholders, preferably within the third-party acquiring space is a plus.
- Demonstrate a willingness to learn and assume additional responsibility when asked
Salary Range: $55,000.00 to $105,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the U.S. is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions.
