The Credit and Fraud Risk (CFR) Control Management team is part of the first line of defense with respect to Operational Risk and Risk Remediation.Within the realm of CFR Control Management, the Risk Strategy Remediation team (RSRT) is responsible for the analysis of Issue impacts and determining whether remediation of a strategy action is needed.

The RSRT team is focused on the Issues impacting the U.S. Consumer and Small Business Card Members.Management of these Issues requires disciplined oversight of a portfolio which must be managed to short and fixed deadlines.The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams including CFR teams, Banking, Technology, Compliance and Control Management teams across 1st and 2nd lines.Strong verbal and written communication is essential.

Risk analysis and remediation is accomplished by executing standardized protocols and programs as well data analytics. Ability to focus on the customer experience, adhere to protocols and execute arcuately is a must.

Key responsibilities:

  • Assist portions of the remediation process, these may include:
    • tracking progress
    • validating resolution efficacy and
    • communicating status updates to stakeholders
  • Perform quality assurance on documentation and maintenance records of remediations to ensure transparency and accountability in the issue management process
  • Support review of components of the End-to-End (E2E) BU issue resolution process

Qualifications:

·1-2 Years experience in operational risk management (e.g., within Risk and/or Internal Audit function) Understanding of critical operational risk management lifecycle activities

·Project management, communication, and interpersonal skills

·Experience in process governance, with an understanding of processes that align with policies, regulatory frameworks, and/or operational standards

·Analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to analyze data, identify trends, and evaluate risk scenarios effectively [BU-SPECIFIC]

·Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with cross-functional partners across CFR, Operations, Technology and Compliance to achieve a common goal.

·Bachelor’s Degree

·Analytical ability and problem-solving skills

·Experience managing projects including ability to adapt quickly to shifting priorities, multiple demands, ambiguity, and rapid change

·Strong prioritization, organizational, collaboration and project management skills

Preferred Qualifications:

·Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business, Risk Mgmt., or related field; advanced degrees (e.g., MBA, MSc) or certifications are advantageous

·Experience in at least one of the following: 

oScoping, prioritizing, and support remediation of operational issues

oKnowledge of investigating and conducting root cause analysis to address repeated operational risk issue types

oAssisting of quality assurance on documentation of operational risk issues and events

oRecommendation of remediation strategies for operational risk issues and events

oPerforming Quality Assurance of documentation and maintaining records of operational risk issues and events to ensure transparency and accountability

oSupporting the BU E2E issue resolution process

  • Experience with SAS, SQL, Python, HIVE or HQL.
  • Experience with or strong understanding of technical development and process development methodologies such as Agile, Method I, Six Sigma Design
  • Process mapping experience

Salary Range: $55,000.00 to $105,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
