How will you make an impact in this role?
As part of the Banking Center of Excellence, this Digital Product team is responsible for launching and managing internally built as well as partner-sourced products and services that support the business vision. The candidate will define product capabilities and features, shape the customer experience, articulate, and deliver requirements, and evolve the product backlog for American Express banking products. The focus of the role will be on developing, launching, and finding innovative ways to create scalable customer communications for the deposit products and overall communication strategy, as well as other digital journeys in the customer banking stages.
- Provide insight to create the digital product roadmap, scope of new features and prioritize the backlog
- Support overall product management efforts including tracking project status, managing, and raising risks and issues
- Collaborate with matrixed teams and partners to launch digital products and features, and manage in-market digital products post-launch
- Lead specific responsibilities of product /capability development for requirements, refinement, solution, launch and release
- Partner with engineering, design, and user research to define user stories, and user experiences
- Brainstorm new business architecture with partners to continuously help them towards the best possible solutions for customers
- Partner closely with Product Managers to understand the business needs and provide ongoing updates on key work in progress
- Support new capabilities and document the outcomes/benefits of the supporting use cases to help prioritize work to deliver the maximum value
- Support discovery/solution sessions for new capabilities with key partners that produce well defined capabilities and documented outcomes/findings
- Drive high-performance execution strategy and participate in all agile ceremonies during sprint cycles
- Track program milestones and solution deliverables across essential teams
- Maintain pulse on external digital product development trends, marketplace dynamics, and competitive landscape to inform continuous product evolution
- Contribute to a strong team culture of resilience, self-awareness, kindness and availability
Minimum Qualifications:
- Curiosity and appetite to know how things work and ability to use that knowledge to make connections and find opportunities with an entrepreneurial mindset and bias toward action
- Digital product development experience, new product development, product management, or similar role
- Understanding of Agile principles and experience effectively managing a backlog using Jira or any other development management software
- Strong decision-making skills and the ability to resolve complex issues independently
- Highly organized, critical thinker with a strong attention to detail and accountability for producing results
- Excellent communication skills across and global teams with ability to engage, influence, and encourage partners to drive collaboration and alignment
- Outstanding project management skills
- Roll-up your sleeves and fun attitude
- Occasional domestic travel
Preferred Qualifications:
- Digital product or digital banking development experience
- Experience with JIRA, Confluence, Rally, Griffin, and Mural
- Ability to work in white space and communicate digital product strategies
- Understanding how to work with external partners /strategic partnerships
Salary Range: $60,000.00 to $110,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
