Job Summary

The Tennessee College of Applied Technology Oneida/Huntsville is accepting applications for the position of Associate Instructor, Computer Information Technology located at the Morgan County Correctional Complex, Wartburg, TN.

Job Duties

  • Teach and instruct rehabilitation and correctional students in technical training to prepare them to re-enter the job market in the information technology field through lecture, demonstrations, and/or audio visual aids - (Essential)
  • Prepare syllabi of courses of study with detailed lesson plans - (Essential)
  • Accurately prepare and submit all required documentation/reports by set deadlines - (Essential)
  • Administer tests to evaluate student progress - (Essential)
  • Maintain all student academic records related to the program (i.e., grades, attendance, discipline, etc.) - (Essential)
  • Attend workshops and/or other training programs to remain current in the Computer Information Technology industry - (Essential)
  • Maintain close communication with correctional personnel and TCAT Oneida/Huntsville administration - (Essential)

Minimum Qualifications

Associate Degree or Diploma from an accredited technical training program in the occupation to be taught
Three years of related industry work experience within the last five years

Preferred Qualifications

Related national, industry-recognized certifications, i.e., CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+; Microsoft’s MCSA and MTA; and Cisco’s CCNA
Teaching experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

High degree of knowledge in all aspects of computer information technology
Computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
Organizational and communication skills necessary to be an effective teacher.
Ability to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to implement processes/procedures according to policies.
Willingness to remain current through continued education in the occupation to be taught. Potential ability in instruction. Strong, moral character, mature attitude, and stable personality.

Salary

Commensurate with Tennessee Colleges of Applied Technology salary guidelines
