Athletics Program ManagerUIW MissionPosition SummaryThe Athletics Program Manager is responsible for assisting the athletic director in the recruitment, student development, and daily operations, as well as skill-gap assessment of assigned sports programs. The General Manager for Athletics will work in accordance with University of the Incarnate Word, Southland Conference, and NCAA rules and regulations. The Athletics Program Manager reports to the Athletics Director.Essential FunctionsJob DutiesKnowledge Skills and Abilities• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook or equivalent.• Excellent oral and written communication skills.• Strong organizational and relationship development skills.• Budget management skills.• Ability to effectively identify and participate in resolution of departmental/ institutional problems with continuous quality improvement as a goal.• Exhibit good judgment in advising and counseling student-athletes.• Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.• Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.Required EducationBachelor's Degree.Required Work Experience• Two (2) or more years of coaching experience at the high school or collegiate level in any sport program which UIW sponsors.• One (1) year of experience in recruitment of athletes at any level.Preferred QualificationsTwo (2) or more years of coaching work experience in football or basketball at the high school or collegiate level.Required Certifications, Licenses or RegistrationsMust have a valid driver license, driving record that is insurable by UIW insurance carrier, and be at least 21 years of age, as required to drive for UIW.
