Automotive Diagnostic Technician

Our Technicians are paid based on an industry-leading technician wage grid that provides pay at $21/hour based on experience, plus opportunities for overrides and longevity bonus based on a combination of tenure and manufacturer certifications.
HOURS: Monday – Wednesday 7:30am – 4pm and Thursday and Friday the hours will vary
Position highlights:
- An extremely wide range of brand exposure and opportunities to improve diagnosis and estimating skills.
- No weekends

What are the day-to-day responsibilities?
- Diagnose the cause of malfunction and be able to note recommendations on inspection sheet.
- Perform needed repairs upon approval from Management.
- Communicate with Auction Inspection Manager about parts needed.
- Performing work with efficiency and accuracy.
- Examining the vehicle to determine if additional safety or service work is required.
- Record all work to be performed and completing the work order in the Auction System as soon as the job is complete.
- Stay current in the latest diagnostic methods and service techniques for the vehicles.
- Become familiar with latest bulletins, service manuals and other service publications.
- Communicate regularly with Auction Inspection Manager to confirm repair information and diagnostic information.
- Follow federal, state and local regulations such as the disposal of hazardous wastes.
What are the requirements for this job
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- One year minimum of diagnostic and mechanical experience.
- Ability to read and comprehend written instructions and information
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Ability to drive manual transmission vehicles
- Manual dexterity, good judgment and ability to operate power and hand tools and other types of machinery safely
- Knowledge of all aspects of automotive repair and maintenance
- Ability to operate an automobile
- Must have technical aptitude to performed complex mechanical repairs.
