Position Summary:

Discovery Education Corporate Education Partnerships (CEP) is responsible for engaging external partners to develop and execute strategic school and community based programs with Fortune 500 companies, trade associations, non-profits, foundations, and government agencies, in concert with the goals and priorities of the Education Division and the company.

The Manager, Marketing & Data Analytics oversee all marketing efforts to engage, grow, and monitor audiences for CEP programs through multiple channels, including all digital, social media, print, and on-air; building process to ensure the strategic analysis of all program data, individually and collectively, in order to inform marketing strategy, while communicating marketing best practices, trends and insights that lead to higher program engagement and activation.


Cross-Program Marketing, Data Analysis and Reporting, and Marketing Events
a. Lead process with Account Management teams to develop marketing strategies based on goals, objectives, audience, and historical data
b. Design marketing strategies and concepts as part of the sales and ideation process
c. Liaise with account services and technical teams to communicate business reporting needs and project requirements
d. Manage process with divisional marketing and other related corporate teams to schedule and promote CEP programs through appropriate Discovery channels
i. Lead process with Discovery Networks to promote key CEP programs through network channels, including on-air and social media, as available
ii. Lead process for research, negotiation and securing promotional unit placement in local/national publications
iii. Proactively build programs and processes to manage and update Discovery Education website via content management system to strategically promote key school-based programs
iv. Serve as lead point of contact to key divisional groups to keep them abreast of current CEP program news, events and updates
e. Develop, manage and communicate monthly marketing calendar summarizing all scheduled internal and external outreach
f. Develop and lead all digital operations and social media strategies for CEP programs
i. Manage Marketing & Ad Operations Coordinator, who supports CEP areas of metrics dashboards, data capture and reporting, email marketing, internal ad operations and scheduling, and supports CEP paid and organic social media strategy, implementation and analytics.
ii. Develop comprehensive metrics tracking system to report and analyze performance of all marketing vehicles
iii. Build process to proactively and systematically gather and analyze data from multiple sources in order to develop client-ready presentations highlighting program reach, engagement and success metrics
iv. Develop and track marketing performance of all website promotion
v. Maintain process for the ongoing flighting of social media posts on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Pinterest and other platforms
vi. Build processes to ensure CEP stays abreast of web analytics trends and industry best practices
g. Manage external marketing vendor relationships including price negotiation, securing placement, delivery of creative assets and metrics reporting
2. Identify new marketing and promotional opportunities to increase visibility of CEP programs in the marketplace and to key user groups
3. Interface with K-12 marketing teams to ensure optimization of divisional resources and the sharing of best practices
4. Manage the Events Specialist and Marketing Coordinators to oversee implementation of CEP Events, such as in-person winner assemblies, in-school community nights, conferences and large-scale program-specific events

List Management, Sourcing and Email Outreach
5. Manage design, development and deployment of emails through email marketing tool
6. Lead process to ensure proactive review of all outbound emails to ensure consistent voice, engaging messaging and adherence to best practices
7. Liaise with divisional marketing on use of, and updates to, master email database, including profiling and segmentation
8. Oversee process to ensure the uploading and organization of all program lists
9. Lead process to report to Account Services team on targeted email performance (delivered, opens, clicks, etc) and overall analysis of data to determine going-forward strategy
10. Manage relationships and determine needs with list brokers to procure segmented lists for direct mail and email outreach based on specific criteria, and analyze program participation and engagement rates relative to sourced lists


* BA/BS degree
* Minimum 5-6 years of experience in digital marketing, with proven success leading digital marketing campaigns
* Demonstrated core understanding of digital marketing tools, techniques, and social strategy
* Knowledge of client/campaign marketing strategy formulation and execution
* Proven experience in social media and knowledge of digital trends
* Experience with web and social analytics reporting tools such as Google Analytics, Simply Measured and the Salesforce Marketing Cloud
* Strong leadership skills, with previous managerial responsibility
* Understanding of SEO and data visualization techniques
* Ability to develop compelling presentations
* Strong analytical, organizational and time-management skills
* Ability to multi-task and prioritize while supporting multiple stakeholders
* Self-starter, with ability to work with high deegree of autonomy, while collaborating well in a team environment
* High-energy team player, with solid attention to detail
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
