About the role:
This is a pivotal role in designing, developing, and integrating battery systems and telematics solutions into our forklifts. Responsible for integrating telematics modules and electrical systems for forklifts. The role involves developing detailed electrical schematics, analyzing test data, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to align project designs with specifications.
What you will do:
- Design and develop electrical systems and components, including harness designs, PCB layouts, and detailed electrical schematics, adhering to industry standards
- Perform root cause analysis for electrical issues, carrying out diagnostics and troubleshooting to ensure optimal system performance and reliability
- Develop hardware specifications for telematics and electrical controllers in alignment with project requirements and industry regulations. Work with suppliers to ensure compliance with requirements and standards
- Assist in the preparation of prototypes for testing, including assembling and validating hardware to meet performance requirements. Ensure prototypes are fully functional before undergoing testing
- Integrate and validate telematics or similar electronic modules with the existing forklift systems, ensuring seamless communication and data flow between components
- Troubleshooting, issue tracking and resolution of electrical system issues and implementing effective solutions to improve system reliability and efficiency

- Will require this position to reside near our Marengo, Illinois
- The work is primarily done in an office environment with other work locations including development lab, manufacturing line, and field locations such as customer facilities. Microsoft office suite of tools along with data analysis software
What you need to have:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering roles in a major OEM
- Collection and analysis of CAN data using CAN tools like P-CAN, CANalyzer etc.
- Proficiency in using CAD software to create electrical drawings and harness designs
- Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and best practices
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with writing hardware specifications for electrical controllers
- Working knowledge of control systems and electrical subsystems. Experience with CANBus protocols and testing
- Must have working experience with electrical instruments like oscilloscopes, power supplies, signal generators etc.
What would be nice to have:
- Knowledge of embedded systems and microcontrollers
- Experience working with Telematics, IoT, Battery management systems
- Hands-on experience with design and testing of power electronics, electric motors, controllers, converters, etc.
- Experience in validation methodologies i.e. HIL, SIL, system etc.
- Proficient with CAD tools for PCB design (e.g., Altium, Eagle, etc.) and mechanical design (e.g., Creo, SolidWorks)
- Experience with electrical and firmware/ software testing, troubleshooting and issue resolution

The salary for this position ranges from $95,000 to $107,000 annually. The specific salary for a successful candidate will depend upon, among other legitimate factors, education, training, and/or experience.
