About the role:
Responsible for Connected Solutions Electrical Testing and evaluation. Support development and implementing testing on existing and next generation/ emerging connected/Telematic systems. The position also involves testing of various operator assist functionalities, controllers and integration with energy storage systems. Coordinate activity between engineering, firmware/ software teams, energy storage solutions team and truck development teams. Lead and coordinate DFMEA creation, test plan drafting, test execution and data analysis. Troubleshooting, issue tracking and resolution on any current or future system related field service requests.
What you will do:
- Participate in DFMEA process, interpret test requirements from design teams and supplier specifications to develop test specifications, design test cases to be executed and test plan
- Planning and developing the test strategy along with the characterization and determination of new tests to be performed. Develop new test procedures as required for the telematics and operator assist systems
- Schedule and perform tests to meet project milestones while respecting manpower and resource availability
- Acquire and process test data, analyze the results and provide engineering interpretations.
- Work with suppliers to communicate requirements, optimize deliverables and apply the latest technology
- Troubleshooting, issue tracking and resolution of electrical system issues and implementing effective solutions to improve system reliability and efficiency
- Plan and specify new equipment required for telematics testing, component and system level electrical testing
When & Where:
- 5-10% travel
- The work is primarily done in an office environment with other work locations including development lab, manufacturing line, and field locations such as customer facilities. Microsoft office suite of tools along with data analysis software.
What you need to have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical. Systems or related field of study)
- 3+ years of experience in test engineering roles in a major OEM (Material handling or others). System level test experience preferred
- Must possess working knowledge of selection of sensors for testing, proficiency in electrical circuit design and analysis
- Working knowledge of control systems and electrical subsystems. Experience with CANBus protocols and testing
- Collection and analysis of CAN data using CAN tools like P-CAN, CANalyzer etc.
- Possess the technical ability to read, evaluate, understand, and communicate data from prints and technical standard documents
- Should have working experience with electrical instruments like oscilloscope, power supplies, signal generators etc.
- Experienced in creating and reviewing test cases, testing, constructing project schedules involving timelines, manpower and resources
What would be nice to have:
- Experience with n-Code, MATLAB or other data processing software
- Experience with testing controllers, motor drivers or similar electro-mechanical components is highly preferred
- Experience in system level, component level, environmental testing and board level electrical test characterization is preferred
- Experience with testing object detection technologies
- Experience with electrical and firmware/ software testing, troubleshooting and issue resolution
- Understanding of design of experiments, accelerated life testing principles, product life cycles, and application of relevant test methodologies

The salary for this position ranges from $77,000 to $108,000 annually. The specific salary for a successful candidate will depend upon, among other legitimate factors, education, training, and/or experience.
