The Coordinator works on a team that empowers MBA program staff to make decisions and to smoothly deliver the MBA program to students by coordinating areas of web communication, technology tools, and technology operations.

Position Description

Technology Operations and Use Management

  • Coordinate and submit requests for hardware and software access in the MBA Program Office and the broader MBA Team, maintaining both broad and detailed understanding of the team’s technology use in communication with Harvard Business School Information Technology (HBS IT)
  • Independently identify opportunities to improve processes and workflow through technology.
  • Work with HBS IT Information Security to coordinate audits of MBA users in applications, ensuring users only have the access they require.
  • Keep track of applications that MBA program staff maintain outside of the HBS IT ecosystem, Ensure that each application maintains proper security review, accessibility review, and it renewed in a timely manner.
  • Partner with MBA central communications on the intersection of student communications and technology
Solutions Development and Project Management
  • Collaborate with HBS IT to develop solutions to improve business operations by utilizing existing technology suite or suggesting new platforms, tools, or enhancements.
  • Serve as project coordinator for web communications and Information Technology (IT)-related projects within the MBA Program Office
  • Develop and update technical documentation related to projects, tech licensing, admin access for tech tools, and assist in implementing the school’s annual security requirement audit
Maintenance
  • Maintain existing SharePoint sites and sub sites, lists, libraries, and content (including pages, workflows, and items)
  • Provide ongoing support and training to users
Additional responsibilities
  • Collaborate with IT partners to consult, develop, and deliver a wide variety of technology solutions
  • Assess, pilot and operationalize application solutions to help inform business and the use of new technology tools
  • Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders while ensuring operational needs are met
  • Advocate and utilize user-centric design and UX research to identify and solve user issues more accurately and efficiently
  • This role is responsible for other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent is required.
  • 5+ years of experience in administrative support role(s) is required with experience coordinating technology tools preferred.
  • Education beyond high school may count toward experience.
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) experience is a must, including Forms and SharePoint development.

  • Experience working in higher education; Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to work independently as well as on a team.

Additional Information

This is a hybrid position which we consider to be a combination of remote and onsite work at our Boston, MA based campus. HBS expects all staff to be onsite 3 days per week and departments provide onsite coverage Monday – Friday. Specific hours and days onsite will be determined by business needs and are subject to change with appropriate advanced notice.
