Data Analyst

The Purpose of This Role
FBT Business Intelligence team is looking for a hardworking, highly motivated Senior Data Analyst with solid grasp of programming fundamentals, software design and development practices. In this role, you will be an integral part of a data team, with an objective of enabling Business Intelligence capabilities for Fidelity and creation of impactful data driven business solutions. As a squad member, you will work closely with the product owner, scrum master, architects, and other developers to design, build, test, and deliver the features that have an impact to Portfolio Construction Tools.
The Value You Deliver
- Responsible for Data Discovery, Data Sourcing Analysis, Data Mapping Rules for complex initiatives involving new data technologies/platforms, and requiring working across Fidelity
- Collaborate with DBAs, architects, and subject area owners to understand the data assets
- Gather and incorporate feedback from Product Owners, Data Architects, and Data Engineers to aid in the design of the product.
- Guide Product Owner and Data Engineers in the best approach to assembling large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements. Ensure that Database Design and Modeling standards are in alignment with Industry and Enterprise Modeling standard processes
- Write and maintain business rules using SQL logic.
- Facilitate timely Data Sharing & Data Security approvals to enable key data programs
- Build & maintain knowledgebase of assigned data subject areas, serving as technology data experts for those subject areas
- Help drive data governance subject area & tool adoption, consistently across all squads within product area
- Facilitate path to resolution of long-standing Data Quality issues by bringing together critical business and technology partners
The Skills that are Key to this role
Technical
- Bachelor’s in information systems, Computer Science or Information Technology with minimum 7 Years Data Analysis Experience
- Strong communications skills and the ability to collaborate well and influence both business and technology partners at all levels.
- Deep technical data analysis and design abilities
- Understanding of different database platforms (e.g. Oracle, MySQL, Hadoop, Snowflake Cloud) and their usages (OLTP Recordkeeping, ODS, MDM, Warehousing and Data Lakes).
- Experience supporting a Data Governance program and using Data governance tools such as Collibra/Alation(for Business Glossary/Data Catalog), Manta/Metacenter(for Data Lineage).
- Proven track record of solving real world problems using data.
- Experience in working on AWS, API and Python.
The Skills that are Good to Have for this role
- Experience of database design through the full development lifecycle: from requirements to conceptual, logical and physical data model design and implementation.
- Strong SQL skills.
- Ability to navigate and master sophisticated transactional and warehouse databases.
- Technically adept in learning new technologies, architectural methodologies and adapting our practices to support frequent changes in the technical environment.
- Knowledge of NoSQL database technologies and non-relational data modeling techniques.
- Experience with cloud native data warehousing and data lake solutions using Snowflake and Postgres a plus.
