The U.S. Consumer Services Team is responsible for our suite of consumer products, services, and experiences in the U.S., including our premium, cobrand, cash back, and lending portfolios, Membership Rewards, Global Travel & Lifestyle Services, the Centurion Lounge network, our Global Dining and Resy businesses, U.S. Consumer Banking, and best-in-class marketing programs across customer, prospect, and partner channels. The USCS team is focused on making membership an indisputable competitive advantage and helping each other become better leaders every day.
Membership Portfolio Services is responsible for developing and scaling several growing businesses that are strategically important to American Express. Each of the businesses within Membership Portfolio Services connect Card Members with Merchants -a key differentiator of our Membership Model - and which also represent a significant opportunity to help drive our growth over the mid-to-long term.
Amex Offers sits within the Membership Portfolio Services Team.
Launched in 2012, Amex Offers is a digital advertising platform that connects Merchants, Advertisers and brands with the tens of millions of American Express Card Members across the globe. The Amex Offers team develops strategic marketing partnerships that deliver – through the Amex offers platform - unique differentiated value to reach high-spending Card Members in the digital channels where they engage with American Express. Through this solution, we can help advertisers get laser-focused on who our mutual customers are, what they want, and how we can meet their needs - delivering deep insights and maximizing results.
How will you make an impact in this role?
The Director, Business Development on the Amex Offers Sales & Success Team will be responsible for managing a sales team, dedicated to the acquisition of new advertisers and brands into the Amex Offers ecosystem. This role will require a leader with a strong track record in delivering against sales goals, creating a dynamic team culture with a will to win and a proven ability to effectively influence across teams and with external customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a team of 5+
- Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to achieve sales targets, volumes and growth objectives.
- Drive revenue growth through new client/advertiser acquisition, and expansion of new accounts.
- Lead, mentor, and manage the sales team, providing guidance, support, and professional development.
- Develop, and actively manage, a sales pipeline, across multiple industries/verticals.
- Manage sales forecasting, budgeting, and reporting to track performance and adjust strategies as needed.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, agencies and stakeholders; address and resolve complex advertiser issues to ensure high levels of satisfaction and loyalty.
- Collaborate with cross-functional and global counterparts in order to drive global growth.
This will be a Hybrid position where you will be required to be in the office 3 days a week.
Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years of relevant experience in Sales or Account Development, preferably within a digital media or performance marketing sales roles.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing sales team.
- Outstanding business acumen and strategic perspective.
- Exceptional relationship building experience, including the ability to develop relationships with media/affiliate agencies, senior executives and C-Suite leadership teams externally.
- Proven ability to influence others.
- Entrepreneurial spirit with experience in meeting and exceeding sales goals while managing an active sales pipeline across a team.
- Ability to think creatively, approach sales enablement from new angles, and manage/navigate in a highly dynamic, rapidly changing and growing environment.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Salary Range: $130,000.00 to $205,000.00 annually + bonus + equity (if applicable) + benefits
