Director, Data Analytics & Insights

The Role

Fidelity’s Workplace Investing organization is in the middle of groundbreaking transformation from a legacy data and reporting environment to a modern / cloud based one. This is a complex initiative that spans data, visualization, and digital experience.

You will join a chapter group of passionate data and analytics professionals in Workplace Investing Technology, building best in class Analytics & Reporting capabilities. You will collaborate with leaders and partners across business, analytics, architecture, and engineering teams to design and deliver analytics solutions that drive business decision making. You will drive and conduct in-depth analysis of data and reporting needs, work through the complexity of a legacy analytics platform, drive clarity, and present your findings with action-ready recommendations. You will query and visualize data to unlock insights that drive the business forward. You will participate in and guide data stewardship efforts and implement practices to ensure that data is usable, understandable, secured and shared responsibly.

You will work with multiple business teams to support their analytics needs simultaneously working with technology teams to define the blueprint for the future state of analytics products and solutions. In addition, as a member of the Data Analytics & Insights Chapter within WI Technology, you will be an integral part of the team responsible for maintaining / developing best-in-class analytical expertise, developing standards, and scaling self-serve data analytics and reporting. The successful candidate will also help to drive the extension of an established metrics governance program.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • Deep business domain expertise combined with data and analytics technology experience
  • 10 years+ of demonstrated ability in data analytics, data warehousing, data visualization, and business intelligence
  • Expertise in a variety of analytics techniques including: profiling, data mining, modeling, statistical analysis and measurement
  • Experience with typical dimensional modeling design processes – i.e., Identifying Business Processes, Fact and Dimension tables, Dimensional attributes, Fact table granularity, appropriate SCD types for storing historical information, etc.
  • Experience with complex SQL against both cloud and on-premise relational database technologies – ideally Snowflake and Oracle
  • Track record of working with BI/Reporting toolsets including Tableau and Power BI
  • Proficient in building and publishing customized interactive reports and dashboards
  • Must have strong consultative, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work with a variety of colleagues, including Product Owners and the Engineering community, to ensure the best dashboarding solutions are delivered.
  • Exceptional verbal/written communication and presentation skills
  • Experience in full life-cycle methodology including change management processes and ensuring changes are properly tested and migrated to production
  • History of collaboration with Data Governance teams to catalog deployed metrics and business intelligence solutions
  • Advanced degree and/or certification in relevant subject area (e.g., analytics, computer science, data science) is a plus.
