Enterprise Platforms is a company-wide center of excellence within Technology comprised of both Product Management and Engineering functions. Our critical platforms (Global Account Receivable, Global Loyalty & Benefits, and Digital Banking) underpin American Express’ essential customer segments, value propositions and business lines.

  • Global Loyalty and Benefits powers the Membership Reward points, Amex Offers, Insurance, and Card benefits for over 112 million cards in over 58 markets worldwide.
  • Global Accounts Receivable powers our customer's financial life and Amex’s growth by building innovative Account Receivable Solutions for Consumer Card, Loans, and Commercial Card businesses.
  • Digital Banking powers Deposits, Financial Planning, Bill Payment, and Money Movement experiences through innovative platform products & services while giving customers the ability to manage their money in an automated and predictive way.

Enterprise Platforms’ charter is to modernize the company’s core platforms to dramatically increase Amex’s strategic agility and intensify its customer-centric approach.

We are looking for a Director of Digital Product Management to lead Global Loyalty and Benefits’ API Platform Vision and Strategy, enabling our card member facing channels including servicing and markets to leverage groundbreaking technology that will provide flexibility, scalability, and speed to market. The suitable Product Director will be responsible for creating product roadmap, perform continuous prioritization and collaborating with engineering teams to create efficient and callable platform APIs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish a product vision, strategy, and roadmap for GL&B’s platform API with defined business metrics and targets.
  • Lead multiple high-profile initiatives, ensuring collaboration and communication with key partners on strategy, program status, roadmaps, and trade-offs.
  • Responsible for prioritization of features and capabilities while establishing a balance between the requirements of customers, stakeholders, and engineering work.
  • Partner with product and technology leaders to deploy globally scalable solutions, ensuring continuous focus on best-in-class user experiences, opportunities to test and learn, efficient resource usage, product quality, and speed to market.
  • Leverage agile best practices to assess feasibility of ideas and create product constructs and innovative capabilities that power best-in-class products.
  • Drive improvements in future releases by obtaining feedback on products and capabilities and maintaining a pulse on external driven products.
  • Lead the product team with clear objectives and key results; responsible for performance evaluations, employee engagement, coaching and people development.
  • Enable analytics-driven decision making to evolve products and usage; produce ROI analyses and optimization recommendations.

Qualifications:

  • At least 8 years of demonstrated ability in product development and delivery with proven track record in defining winning product constructs and delivering a product roadmap.
  • A balance of technical knowledge (especially API and how its built and leveraged) and business acumen with a proven track record in launching software or services in partnership with engineering teams, and/or working cross functionally with multiple stakeholders and product development teams.
  • High degree of proficiency in OKR, Design Thinking, Event Storming, prototyping, iterative development, Scrum, and Agile product development.
  • Enthusiasm and passion for great products and services and an ability to articulate product vision and functionality.
  • Results driven mindset with a proven track record to prioritize and deliver against multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage, influence, and inspire partners to drive collaboration and alignment.
  • Ability to solve sophisticated problems and has a highly analytical approach.
  • Deep knowledge of Payments, Accounting, Accounts Receivable, Loyalty programs, Card and Non-Card Lending is a plus.

Salary Range: $150,000.00 to $225,000.00 annually + bonus + equity (if applicable) + benefits
