In this job, you’ll be responsible for leading three of SCE’s DOCs, the nexus of distribution operations and outage communications. Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership and accountability for the operations of the distribution system, ensuring system reliability, prompt trouble response, timely management notifications, regulatory reporting and accurate service guarantees
  • Manages the development and implementation of standardized business processes, productivity targets, and customer expectations associated with ongoing operations and activities for the Distribution Operation Centers
  • Oversee the day-to-day operation of electric utility systems emergency operations and dispatching centers, to ensure the efficient trouble management and timely restorattion of electricity to customers helping to ensure a postiive customer experience for planned and unplaned outages
  • Develop and implement emergency response plans to effectively manage and mitigate risks associated with emergency operations and dispatching centers, ensuring rapid restoration of service during outages and emergencies. Primary storm chief on Incident Management Team responsible for SCE storm response
  • Develop and manage budgets for electric utility emergency operations and dispatching centers, ensuring optimal allocation of resources to support operational needs
  • Develops and maintains a robust training and employee expectations to ensure compliance to all regulatory, procedural and safety process and procedures
  • Fosters a culture of safety, compliance, and continuous improvement, ensuring all employees adhere to applicable safety rules and safe work practices
  • Develops and coaches high-performing teams, promoting professional growth and excellence in all aspects of utility operations
  • Maintains strategic partnerships and business relations across SCE to support swift resolution of operational issues and competing priorties"

Minimum Qualifications

  • Five or more years of experience supervising a team of direct reports and/or project management

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with electric systems or distribution operations, distribution construction methods
  • Experience with the Outage Management System, Distribution Management System, Advanced Distribution Management System, Energy Management System, Network Management System, and/or outage notification systems
  • Experience managing bargaining unit employees and/or managing within a collective bargaining agreement.
  • Experience developing and/or integrating new or advanced technologies to improve and streamline business processes and/or improve customer experience.

Additional Information

  • This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days.  Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California.  Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.

  • Position will require up to 20% traveling and being out in the field throughout the SCE service territory, primarily routine visits to the DOCs that will be under your supervision (Northern, Western, and Southern DOCs).
  • This position has been identified as a NERC/CIP impacted position - Prior to being hired, the successful candidate must pass a Personnel Risk Assessment (PRA) or Background Investigation. Once hired, the candidate must complete specified training prior to gaining un-escorted access to assigned work location and performing necessary job duties.
  • Relocation does not apply to this position.
