Become a Corporate Finance Senior Financial Analyst at Edison International (EIX) and build a better tomorrow. As part of your work within EIX’s Corporate Finance team, you will collaborate closely with senior management and members of the finance and strategy teams not only at EIX, but also at each of EIX’s major subsidiaries Southern California Edison (SCE) and Trio.

Your responsibilities will largely consist of forecasting and analyzing the financial performance of a company with consolidated revenues of over $16 billion in 2023. Core monthly assignments may include: projecting EIX cash flows and financing requirements, forecasting current year consolidated earnings, evaluating year-to-date consolidated earnings among other activities. Additionally, you will be involved in the long-term planning and annual budgeting processes, including evaluation of EIX’s capital structure, dividend policies, and credit profile, in support of decision making by senior leaders and ultimately the EIX Board of Directors.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate historical and projected consolidated financial results of the corporate entity and its subsidiaries.
  • Lead variance analyses across EIX and its subsidiaries, understanding and monitoring key earnings drivers, and working with counterparts to understand root causation of variances.
  • Collaborate across multiple departments within EIX and its subsidiaries to maintain and improve financial models.
  • Lead and assist in the coordination, planning, and development of the annual budget and long-term plan.
  • Prepare and collaborate in the development of presentation materials for senior management, the EIX Board of Directors and other key stakeholders.
  • Perform ad-hoc financial analyses including the development of financial models and present key findings.
  • Conduct financial research and/or economic analysis, competitive landscape assessments, and benchmarking of companies.
  • A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.

 Minimum Qualifications

  • Three or more years of experience in financial, quantitative, or operational analysis.  
  • Experience with financial modeling and/or valuation, including creation and analysis of the three financial statements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Economics, Business, or related field.  
  • Pursuit of or in completion of Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Program exam I, II or III, AFP FP&A Certification, or Certified Public Accountant designation.
  • Experience utilizing financial analysis techniques, tools, and concepts to craft, analyze, and draw conclusions from business data.
  • Familiarity with Bloomberg, Capital IQ, and/or other market data platforms.

You Should Know

  • This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.  The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
