What we need   

We are looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our Mobile Robotics Electrical Engineering team. In this role you will drive innovation with the BOT hardware team with a focus on sustaining engineering of our current fleet of thousands of mobile robots and drive development of new products.  You will identify and develop product enhancements, support production, and the robots in the field, along with working on new product development.  You will be part of a team of highly talented Mechanical, Embedded, Compliance, Systems, and Project Engineers.     

What we do  

We are a fast-growing team designing mobile robots with a focus on new product development. Working cross functional to define requirements, architecture, specifications, system design, PCA design, initial robot bring up, and field support. 

What you’ll do   

  • Contribute to the electrical engineering activities in all phases from specification and design to implementation to verification/validation testing to field support. 
  • Develop electrical systems including system requirements, component selection, harness designs, harness layouts, and custom components and PCBAs. 
  • Generate detailed electrical schematics, PCB layout, drawings, and bill of materials (BOMs) for PCA’s.   
  • Support UL and other certifications as required. 
  • Contributes to research, analyses, and down-selection of solutions for electrical system designs.   
  • Responsible for working on technical activities for assigned projects and design integration with electro-mechanical and software systems.   
  • Up to 50% travel may be required to customer sites to support new installations.

What you’ll need

  • Bachelors or master’s in electrical engineering or related degree.   
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in the field of electrical design.   
  • Experience driving products through certification (UL, EN, IEC).   
  • Experience with automation, robots, powertrain systems, or other similar systems. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.  
  • Ability to take initiative and thrive in a fast-paced environment is essential.  
  • Ability to work on cross-functional teams and get along with others.  

Other considerations

  • Up to 50% travel may be required. Employees must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client and other customer locations.
  • The employee is responsible for owning a credit card and managing expenses personally to be reimbursed bi-weekly.
