As a Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for identifying, acquiring, and coordinating early stage deployment of technologies that advance SCE’s strategic priorities. You will collaborate closely with internal teams, external technology vendors, startups, and research organizations to explore innovative solutions, run demonstrations or small-scale deployment programs, and showcase real-world capabilities that can transform our grid. The ideal candidate is results-driven with a deep understanding of technology trends in the utility sector and a passion for driving grid innovation through hands-on engagement and execution.

Responsibilities

  • Manages activities of one or more large, long-term projects or portfolio of related projects with responsibility for results in terms of costs, methods and outcomes
  • Develops business plans, objectives and initiatives for the organization
  • Provides inputs to organizational objectives and policies and ensures delivery of results
  • Engages regularly with senior management as a key consultant on critical business issues
  • Establishes, oversees and enhances stage-gate governance processes for emerging technology portfolio management, prioritization, and funding
  • Develops technology roadmaps aligned to business goals and lead adoption of emerging tech capabilities across the organization
  • Leads complex, multi-phase implementation programs for new enterprise systems, infrastructure, and smart grid technologies
  • Oversees systems integrations, data migrations, and interfaces between emerging tech platforms and legacy systems.
  • A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ten or more years of experience in technology project management.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, computer science, or other business-related discipline (including liberal arts majors)
  • Experience with utility technology needs, including strategic objectives and areas of investment focus
  • Experience responding to regulatory activities
  • Experience delivering/developing technical information to a non-technical audience as well as to senior leadership
  • Experience in corporate strategy, strategic planning or strategy/management consulting

Additional Information

  • This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days.  Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California.  Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
