As the Engineering Manager, you will lead and develop the engineering team focused on designing, developing, and optimizing all assembly operations within the company. A comprehensive understanding of materials science, cable assembly processes, and industry standards is essential for your success. Working on-site in the Missouri facility, you will drive technical design, manufacturing capabilities, and implementation of new processes for innovative product designs to meet evolving business demands for an innovative and diverse product portfolio of customized technical solutions in electronic and fiber optic cable assemblies for customers serving a broad spectrum of business applications. The Engineering Manager will cooperate with product development, engineering, sales, operations, and the executive team to deliver high quality cable assemblies that meet customer specifications and industry standards. This person will become a key member of the Executive Leadership Team.

To thrive, you should have: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Materials Science required; Master’s degree in Engineering or Business preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in the cable assembly industry, with a strong technical background in copper and fiber optic cable design and manufacturing. 
  • Proven leadership experience in managing engineering teams. 
  • Solid understanding of copper and fiber optic conductor properties, cable assembly processes, and industry standards (IPC–620, J-STD-001, TIA/EIA). Proficiency in cable assembly design and manufacturing software. 
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams. 
  • Experience in Project Management methodologies. LEAN certification and continuous improvement knowledge. ISO/AS certification experience is preferred.

To be successful, you should bring knowledge of:

  • BICSI TDMM, application guide for telecommunications and telephone systems
  • J-STD-001, Best practices for solder.
  • IPC-620, Wire harness workmanship.
  • AS9100 First Article Process, essential for clients in the defense industry.
  • LEAN manufacturing.
  • ISO 9001: 2015, Quality Management System

Your responsibilities as the Engineering Manager, you will:

  • Develop and execute engineering strategies for cable assembly products, aligning with business goals.
  • Lead and mentor the engineering team, providing guidance and career development.
  • Oversee design and development of new copper and fiber optic assembly products, ensuring compliance with specifications and standards.
  • Manage product integration into production, including authorization of new raw materials and tooling.
  • Drive continuous improvement by enhancing product performance, reducing costs, and increasing efficiency.
