Facilities and Maintenance
Full Time

Reporting to the VP of Operations, the position is an integral part of the college’s campus maintenance team. This is a hands-on position that manages, and as needed, assists in the completion of campus maintenance projects to include minor carpentry, plumbing, electrical and HVAC repairs while supporting the VP of Operations on capital project management. Additional responsibilities include administrative support in monitoring the college’s online work order system, assigning maintenance team personnel, and serving as the college’s liaison to external contractors and firms.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities/Functions

  • Oversee the college’s integrated campus work order system
  • Assist the VP of Operations with ongoing capital project support as required
  • Assist with minor carpentry, plumbing, electrical and HVAC repair work.
  • Coordinate and direct external contractor support activities on campus.
  • Assist the operations staff in supporting special events on college.
  • Additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by teh VP of Operations.

Qualifications (Skills and Abilities Required)

  • High school diploma required; Associate’s degree and/or applicable technical certifications preferred
  • General mechanical aptitude and abilities with 4 years general facilities maintenance experience
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Basic computer literacy for administrative functions (Word, Excel)
  • Through behavior and actions, embraces the core values of Williamson.
  • Ability to work in teams or work independently and direct oneself daily.
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) with contractors, architects, engineers, faculty, staff and students.

Working Conditions

  • This position will primarily be working in all areas across the college campus in performing a wide range of tasks and responsibilities, both indoors and out.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and handles the physical demands of the job including standing and bending, operating equipment for long periods, working in all weather conditions (heat and cold).

Supervisory Responsibility

  • No direct supervisory requirements although the ability to be lead point of contact for facilities team is expected.
