Job Description:

The Pendleton Cottage, a division of theOregon Health Authority, has an exciting opportunity for aFacility Operations Specialist 1to join a dynamic team dedicated to maintaining a safe and functional environment for individuals recovering from mental illness. Pendleton Cottage is a residential care facility with 16 beds focused on person-centered, psychiatric treatment for adults, while promoting wellness and community integration.

What you will do!

As theFacility Operations Specialist 1, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and scheduling facility maintenance and projects for Pendleton Cottage and the surrounding Oregon State Hospital property. This role includes overseeing the general upkeep of buildings and grounds, coordinating contractors for maintenance and repairs, and ensuring compliance with ADA standards, energy conservation programs, and safety regulations. You will also play a key role in tracking budgets, project timelines, and ensuring that the facility operates smoothly and safely.

Responsibilities include:

  • Inspecting and maintaining buildings, grounds, and systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing) to identify deficiencies and coordinate necessary repairs.
  • Managing preventive maintenance schedules and ensuring contracted trade workers perform tasks in line with agreements.
  • Operating within the OregonBuys system for purchasing services and supplies, including preparing project budgets and cost estimates.
  • Coordinating permits, inspections, and compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Maintaining accurate records of maintenance logs, contracts, and project details.
  • Ensuring a safe work environment by resolving indoor air quality issues, ADA compliance, and energy conservation efforts.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelors degree in building construction, industrial engineering or related field AND one year of experience planning, scheduling, or coordinating facility system maintenance and construction projects; OR
Four years of experience planning, scheduling or coordination facility system maintenance or construction projects.

Special Qualifications

  • Experience managing facility maintenance or projects, including preventive maintenance, budgeting, and coordinating with contractors.
  • Familiarity with state and local building codes, security systems, and commercial building renovation.
  • A valid Oregon driver’s license.
