Federal Work Study – Grounds & Outdoor Maintenance Assistant
Position Title: Student Help
Location: Elizabethton Main Campus

Job Summary: The Grounds & Outdoor Maintenance Assistant will support the upkeep and beautification of campus grounds. This Federal Work Study position is ideal for students who enjoy working outdoors, don’t mind getting their hands dirty, and can commit to a consistent afternoon schedule.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be eligible for Federal Work Study
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Willingness to perform physical labor, including lifting, bending, and walking for extended periods
- Dependable, punctual, and able to follow directions
- Positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team
GENERAL JOB DUTIES:
- Assist with general campus grounds upkeep, including:
- Weeding, trimming, mulching, and planting
- Pressure washing walkways and building entrances
- Trash pickup and general outdoor cleanup
- Provide seasonal landscaping support as needed
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area at all times
- Follow instructions from the maintenance team and supervisor
WORKING SCHEDULE:
- Approximately 3:30 PM – 5:00 PM Monday through Thursday, or
- Fridays when full-time staff are on campus (schedule will be coordinated in advance)

SALARY RANGE:
- Hourly rate based on current Federal Work Study guidelines, $12
