As a Financial and Business Coordinator within the Division of Epidemiology at the Georgia Department of Public Health, you will join a dedicated group of public health professionals that help support the overall mission and vision of protecting lives of Georgian residents in a variety of ways.
Job Responsibilities
- Gathers, verifies, and consolidates a variety of budget/financial data to be used in the formulation of spreadsheets and presentations.
- Researches, verifies, and revises budget/program data, as required, for correct budget/program submission and execution.
- Provide support for various contract-related activities: implementation of procedures, budgets, and tracking invoices/payments.
- Prioritizing grant applications and collaborating with program leadership, staff, and other subject matter experts to ensure alignment of funding opportunities with strategic priorities.
- Assists staff in preparation of grant applications and proposals: prepares grant applications in accordance with regulations, policies, and procedures; interprets, explains, applies, and ensures compliance with guidelines of granting agents and with all applicable laws, ordinances, rules, regulations, standards, policies, and procedures; submits grant applications, and quarterly and annual progress reports.
- Will support budget development, assist with monitoring budget expenditures for grant compliance; maintain accurate and complete grant files; perform grant related special projects and periodic program monitoring; coordinate with other departments on grant close-out procedures.
- Maintains a strong knowledge of all program areas within the Division.
Minimum Qualifications
Associate degree in communication, English, or public relations from an accredited college or university and four (4) years of experience related to area of assignment;
or
One (1) year of experience required at the lower level Busi Support Analyst 3 (GSP132).
Note: An equivalent combination of knowledge, education, job or intern experience, training, or certifications that provides the necessary knowledge and skills to successfully perform the job at the level listed may be substituted year
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in PeopleSoft Financials and Team Georgia Marketplace.
- Experience in contracts, contract amendments and renewals.
- Proficiency in Excel.

DPH accepts educational credential recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and/or the US Department of Education (DOE) will be considered. DPH will contact educational institutions to verify degree, diploma, licensure, etc.
