Fusion Search Engineer
The Fusion Search Engineer is part of a larger team responsible the development, maintenance, and support of enterprise systems that support a portfolio of mission critical applications for a fedearl agency. The Search engineer is responsible for the maintenance, support, and enhancement of the Lucidworks Fusion Search platform. Responsibilities include:
- Developing and maintaining search solutions and provide analysis and recommendations to improve performance
- Implementing AI and machine learning algorithms to enhance searching using advanced algorithms to improve usability.
- Participate in requirements design, code reviews, and internal feature demos with colleagues to validate design decisions and implementation choices.
- Optimizing search performance continuously monitoring and improving search performance, including, indexing, query processing and result ranking.
- Ensuring that the search interface is user-friendly and meets the needs of the end users.
- Security and compliance through development and management of Security Assessment and Authorization (S&A) package, ensuring all applicable security controls comply with NIST SP 800-53, NIST SP 800-37, and OMB A-130. Document and deliver security artifacts, including the Security Assessment Plan (SAP), Security Assessment Report (SAR), and Plan of Action Milestones (POA&M).
Projected compensation range for this position is $140K - $170K. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is determined by various factors, including but not limited to the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as internal pay equity, location, contract-specific affordability and other organizational requirements.
Required Skills- 8+ years of IT experience
- Proven hands-on experience implementing and supporting enterprise search technologies specifically Lucidworks Fusion Search Platform.
- Skilled in Linux system administration and deployment, with experience in both on premises and cloud-based environments.
- Hands-on experience with at least 2 implementations of Lucidworks Fusion Search.
- Familiarity with NIST standards (SP 800-53, SP 800-37), OMB A-130, and security framesorks for IT systems.
- Knowledge of enterprise-level system monitoring tools and metrics development.
- Expertise in IT security and privacy controls, Security Assessment & Authorization (SA&A) processes, and risk management practices.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
Desirable Skills
- Experience supporting the Lucidworks Fusion Search platform for a federal government agency
- Active federal government public trust clearance
Salary range
- $140,000 - $170,000 per year
