Job Summary
- The Grant Accounting Specialist (Accountant III) role is a key component of the Sponsored Projects Accounting team. Not only are their day-to-day and recurring duties key to the financial stability of KCTCS, our colleges and programs, but this position also serves as a key knowledge source for our colleges. This position is a key player in the departments day-to-day operations but also holds several audit functions as well.
KCTCS offers a hybrid work schedule with a requirement to be onsite a minimum of 3 days per work week. Hybrid work schedules are subject to periodic review and may be modified or terminated at any time.
Positions with the KCTCS System Office located in Versailles, KY are term-contract positions, with the expectancy of continuance based on performance.
Job Duties:
- Prepares, submits and distributes reports to KCTCS contract sponsors, grant makers, oversite groups and other key stakeholders.
Handles day-to-day accounting and reporting functions for all grants and contracts. (Peoplesoft, Journal entry, Transaction recording ... ).
Provides communication (written and oral) to KCTCS personnel and sponsors regarding grant & contract specifics and stipulations.
Perform all quality assurance reviews of grant/contract revenue and expenditures on a daily basis.
Assist with all audits and reviews.
Other duties as assigned by the Director of Sponsored Projects.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration and two (2) years of relevant experience or equivalent.
