HR Talent Development and Training Consultant

Baird's Talent Development team strives to deliver modern, effective learning solutions to drive professional development for Baird's greatest asset - our associates. The Talent Development Consultant is a combined role of engaging facilitation and innovative content design with the goal of creating an awesome learning experience. The Consultant will design, facilitate and evaluate business education and talent development programs in alignment with the unique, complex needs of Baird's business units and the firm as a whole. Success will come from being charismatic, persuasive and effective in delivering an integrated learning platform to a variety of audiences. This is a critical role which will focus on leadership development training for our existing and upcoming leaders within Baird.

As a Talent Development Consultant, you will:

Facilitate and Engage:
  • Facilitate original, creative and effective development curriculum aligned with strategic priorities, while fostering a culture of competency-based development planning. Content may include career management, change management, effective candor and Insights Discovery.
  • Adapt to learning styles and audience to create an impactful learning experience for associates at all levels.
Create and Innovate:
  • Create new and update existing associate training content based on development goals and business needs.
  • Leverage existing and new delivery mechanisms (e.g., Adobe Connect, Workday LMS) to enhance learning and development outcomes through modern development program design (e.g., blended solutions that include online, on-demand webinar and instructor-led classroom experiences) matched to learner preferences.
  • Maximize the associate/learner experience by skillful use of available tools and building the business case and implementation of additional capabilities.

Collaborate and Prioritize:
  • Partner and consult with HR Business Partners and Talent Development colleagues on learning and development and OD initiatives.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously to ensure that deliverables and timelines are met within the allocated budget.
Learn and be your best:
  • Evaluate and measure learning solutions that are targeted to increase performance and drive business results.
  • Leverage industry trends and best practice data to become an expert in your field.
  • Seek out and apply new technologies and skills in daily work through conferences, online training, reading, participation in organizations and user groups, etc.

What we look for:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Communications, Adult Education or related field or equivalent experience training and/or professional development.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in HR and professional talent development. Experience in a financial services industry or professional services firm preferred.
  • Outstanding presentation and facilitation skills with the ability to energize a room and adapt to learning styles.
  • Proven track record of effectively developing and delivering content for, presenting to, and influencing associates at all levels.
  • Adept at using common instructional design methods (e.g. ADDIE Model including rapid prototyping) to analyze, design and deliver a variety of learning support approaches, materials and frameworks that are learner-centric and easy to consume by participants.
  • Experience with new and innovative learning tools including blended learning and instructional design. Familiar with the latest eLearning authoring tools and content management tools (e.g. Camtasia, Storyline, Articulate, Captivate, and/or Adobe Create Suite).
  • Diverse portfolio of accomplishments using learning technologies including instructor-led, web-based delivery and tablet or personal device approaches (iPhone, iPad, tablets, etc.).
  • Experience working within with performance, talent and learning management systems preferred (e.g. Workday or other HCM platforms).
  • Familiarity with audio and video editing and a proven ability for delivering content through appropriate distribution channels (e.g. YouTube, Vimeo) as it relates to Talent Development.
  • Facilitator certifications preferred, e.g., DDI, Situational Leadership, Change Management, competency based courses, communication styles, personality profiles (MBTI/Insights/DISC), etc.
  • Proven track record of project management within cross functional team environment, supporting multiple projects simultaneously.
