What you will do!

This position plays a crucial role in supporting Infrastructure Operations Engineers who design system and network-based solutions for OHA/ODHS entities, community partners, and customers. As a key member of the Infrastructure Operations Team within Customer Services and Support, this role acts as an escalation point for technical issues. Utilizing advanced technical skills, the position analyzes and resolves complex technical problems across customer assistance, project management, technical contractors, systems management, and operations.

Responsibilities include agency offices installations/modifications/decommissions, administering and maintenance of agency-wide systems such as Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Windows Servers, network and system monitoring tools, DNS, DHCP, IPAM, Security, web filtering tools, and VPN. Collaboratively working with the state data center, the position monitors and troubleshoots state systems/LANs and WANs, providing recommendations to address performance issues.

What we are looking for:



MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Information Systems Specialist 6


(a) Five (5) years of information systems experience in:
Information Technology

OR


(b) An Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field,
OR
completion of a two (2) year accredited vocational training program in information technology or related field;
AND
three (3) years of information systems experience in:
Information Technology

OR


(c) A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
AND
one (1) year of information systems experience in:
 Information Technology

Working Conditions

Occasional night and weekend work is required to respond to production problems and systems failures, when called outside regular work hours, to ensure the availability and continued operation of ODHS and OHA production systems.

While performing the duties of this job, you will be in an open landscape environment and may be exposed to the sounds and activity of those working around you. These conditions may be in high traffic areas with moderate to loud noises and frequent interruptions

May require long hours with night/weekend work and occasional travel. The working location of this position is in an office, cubicle and/or an agreed upon remote work environment with significant use of a computer and video conferencing.

  • Working knowledge and experience with directory services including but not limited to: Microsoft Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, DFS, File/Print services, and Group policies administration.
  • Experience and Knowledge in the following: Routing and switching, Network Security, network access lists, firewall rules, web filtering, extending switched networks with VLANS, Network Media, TCP/IP and OSI models, IP addressing, LAN/WAN technologies, Broadband Technologies, and MPLS networks.
  • Experience deploying and managing end-to-end monitoring of network and systems infrastructure.
  • Expertise and working knowledge in scripting languages to include VBScript, Perl, or PowerShell
  • Knowledge and skills required to install, operate, and troubleshoot a small to medium size enterprise branch network.
  • Regarding CJIS: Ability to be cleared by the FBI Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) and Oregon State Police through a fingerprint-based criminal background check for access to criminal justice information (CJI).
  • Must be able to pass CJIS training and testing to CJIS Level 4 rating.
  • Requires a successful OHA background check, including a fingerprint-based national background check and abuse/neglect checks.
  • Knowledge in network security best practices and strategies including firewalls, Network Access Control devices and Intrusion Detection Systems
