Investment Banking Marketing Specialist


We are seeking a detail-oriented individual who understands the importance of providing exceptional client service and thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. This individual will work alongside a team of Investment Bankers on the Global Technology and Services Team to construct marketing materials, organize databases, and assist the team in cultivating relationships with companies and investors focused on the Technology and Services sector.

  1. Assist senior team members in creatively developing marketing materials for client meetings and presentations.
  2. Research markets, industry metrics and transactions via financial databases and other public sources. Work closely with various members of the investment banking team to identify and track information on prospective and existing clients and private equity investors focused on specific sectors within the Technology and Services market, as well as lead marketing outreach programs across sectors.
  3. Lead construction and maintenance of marketing databases for various sub sectors within the Technology and Services Group.
  4. Coordinate logistics and prospect targeting for various marketing events, including trade shows, industry conferences and general marketing sessions
  5. Answer, screen and/or initiate client communication via phone or email. Personally handle matters of importance to the firm, the department or clients to increase efficiency and breadth of practice coverage.
  6. Ability to tolerate peak workloads, to deal with constant interruptions and to maintain flexibility and composure in a high volume, high intensity, hectic environment. Must be able to handle heavy workload for a number of Investment Bankers simultaneously and prioritize assignments accordingly. Ability to work limited overtime is required.
  7. Performs other duties as assigned.

  1. Bachelor's degree is required. Prefer coursework and/or major/minor consistent with both liberal arts and marketing. Prior experience in a professional services organization preferred.
  2. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, a demonstrated record for excellence and have the ability to function equally well in both a team setting and on a self-directed basis.
  3. Must be able to work with internal and external clients on a daily basis via the telephone or in person.
  4. Must be detail-oriented and recognize errors in numbers, spelling, grammar and punctuation; must demonstrate good follow-through skills.
  5. Must be comfortable with business writing and construction of presentation of marketing and research presentations.
  6. Must possess functional knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint and have the ability to enter and format data in an Excel spreadsheet. Must also be very skilled in the use of various internet search engines and have demonstrated an ability to undertake research projects.
  7. Basic accounting knowledge and knowledge of the equity capital markets is a plus.
