Position Information

Hiring Department: Student Engagement and Leadership Center

Posting End Date: Open until filled.

Hours: 40 hours per week, standard Monday- Friday 8:00am- 5:00pm, flexibility is required on evenings and weekends

FLSA status: Exempt

Earliest Start Date: 1/6/2025

Salary: $40,480 Annually

Purpose of Position

Essential Functions
  • Coordinates campus engagement events/programs for students such as: Pete's Brew, Up All Night, International Food Fair and more. Initiates and implements educational programming in an education setting.
  • Serve as primary advisor to the Mineros Entertainment Board. Provide support, advice, and guidance to the Mineros Entertainment Board to facilitate program production, budget management, recruitment and training, and coordination of events and activities.
  • Supervises the Mineros Entertainment Board student employees who support programming efforts in the campus engagement area. Supervisor roles include having regular team meetings, one on one meetings with students, delivering constructive feedback and facilitating performance evaluations each semester.
  • Oversees the marketing and design aspect for all Campus Engagement programs and operations. Manages the periodic update of the department's web page, marketing collateral, all signage for student programming, conferences and other events
  • Assists the department's leadership team in the overall marketing and public relations efforts for the Student Engagement & Leadership Center.
  • Compiles estimated cost models for events, submits final budget, tracks budget statistics and prepares management reports; provides event status updates.
  • Develop assessment approaches to measure program effectiveness with an emphasis on fostering affinity to university.
  • Schedules events considering such factors such as entertainment policy, budget and facility capacity. Organizes and performs pre and post event setup/tear down.
  • Maintains equipment in good working condition and ensures it is used/stored properly; learns and provides training on use of equipment; maintains accurate inventory of all technical equipment and provides or schedules routine maintenance.
  • Organizes required event catering services and room/technical equipment with campus partners like Union Services and Sodexo. Submits purchase orders and requisitions as necessary.
  • Prepares emergency plans for all events and notifies fire and police departments, as required; Determines appropriate responses to problems and emergencies.
  • Must be available for evening and weekend work as the job may require.
  • May serve on division and campus-wide committees.
  • Some travel may be required.
  • Complies with all State and University policies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

Required Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's Degree

and

Experience: Two years of experience, related to the statement of duties and responsibilities; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
