Position Summary

The Leave of Absence and Benefits Analyst will be responsible for handling the administration and coordination of various types of leaves of absence (e.g., medical leave, FMLA, personal leave) ensuring adherence to company policies and legal requirements. The role will serve as the primary point of contact for teammates, team leaders, and HR regarding leave requests, providing guidance and support throughout the process.

The role will also be responsible for daily benefit administration work, recurring health and welfare benefits audits, assist with open enrollment preparation, communication and follow-up, and other benefits related responsibilities. 

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Leave of Absence Responsibilities:  

  • Handle the administration and coordination of various types of leaves of absence (e.g., medical leave, FMLA, personal leave) ensuring adherence to company policies and legal requirements.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for teammates, team leaders, and HR regarding leave requests, providing guidance and support throughout the process.
  • Review and process leave requests, verifying eligibility, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring all documentation is complete and compliant with relevant regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with employees about their rights, responsibilities, and benefits during leave periods, including coordination with payroll for accurate benefit deductions.
  • Work closely with HR Leaders to resolve complex leave scenarios and ensure consistent application of policies.
  • Generate and maintain reports on leave usage, trends, and compliance metrics, providing insights to inform HR strategies and decision-making.
  • Develop and conduct training sessions for employees and managers on leave policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline leave processes, enhance service delivery, and improve the overall employee experience.

Benefit Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day operations of group benefit programs including Health & Welfare and Retirement.
  • Ensure accurate and timely enrollment of employees in benefit plans.
  • Process changes to employee benefits, including enrollments, status changes, and terminations.
  • Support benefit related education, communications, and campaigns.
  • Assist with the coordination of Open Enrollment activities and communications.
  • Resolve benefit-related issues and inquiries from employees.
  • Executes bi-weekly, monthly, and quarterly payroll, benefits, and HR audits.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience

  • 8+ years of professional experience including at least 5 years of designated policy, process and administration of leave program development.
  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred. Experience in lieu of degree considered.
  • SHRM- CP or PHR certification preferred.
