Compensation

The base hourly rate for this position is $33.61.

Position Overview

The Maintenance Planner's primary responsibility is to plan and schedule all necessary maintenance activities required to optimize asset performance and reliability. This involves reviewing incoming work requests, scoping and prioritizing the jobs, developing the parts list, and staging the parts once onsite with job instructions for the maintenance crew. The maintenance planner is responsible for parts inventory, including goods receipts on maintenance parts orders, parts consumptions on work orders, and supporting inventory related activities. The maintenance planner will support the development and rollout of the SAP MRO system for the site.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Generate, prioritize, and plan work for maintenance department
  • Estimate materials, time, and manpower requirements for all work requests
  • Provide daily work orders, guidance, direction to designated maintenance personnel
  • Maintain the work order backlog
  • Provide required Work Order & Maintenance Notification report
  • Manage work order system and equipment hierarchy in SAP
  • Coordinate and manage equipment rentals.
  • Support safety programs and initiatives
  • Manage and track repairs to the plant's mobile equipment fleet
  • Assist with identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving equipment and process problems
  • Develop maintenance work procedures for non-routine tasks
  • Determination and acquisition of critical spares/setup in SAP
  • Manage goods receipts and consumptions of maintenance orders and stock materials in SAP
  • Develop work instructions to ensure critical maintenance tasks are performed properly
  • Assist in optimizing preventative maintenance procedures and optimize them to maximize uptime and minimize spend.
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, and/or overtime
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience and Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience
  • 5 or more years of experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with Maintenance Planning/Scheduling in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Understanding of general mechanics, pneumatics, hydraulics, air compressor systems, cutting/welding techniques, metal fabrication, PLCs, and electrical systems. General knowledge of mobile equipment repair, A/C and heating systems, plumbing, and fire sprinkler systems. Hands on experience preferred.
  • Solid experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to develop work instructions incorporating visual aids and clear instructions.
  • Experience with mechanical and/or electrical drawings
  • Experience with SAP system strongly preferred
  • Must be self-directed and highly detail-orientated
  • Must be very organized with solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid knowledge of safe work practices and OSHA requirements.
