As a Management Trainee in Retail Banking, you'll play a pivotal role in achieving both of these goals. Our branches are the heart of our credit union, and we rely on our branch managers to lead and motivate their teams to excel in sales, service, and operations.
In this training role, you'll gain valuable experience and develop the skills necessary to become a successful Manager. You'll work closely with experienced Branch Managers, learning best practices, honing your leadership abilities, and gaining a deep understanding of our credit union's culture and values.


Responsibilities

  • Learn and Develop: Gain knowledge of our products, services, and operations. Develop your leadership skills, including coaching, mentoring, and motivating team members.
  • Assist Branch Manager: Support the Branch Manager in daily operations, including sales, service, and compliance.
  • Participate in Training Programs: Complete specialized training programs to enhance your knowledge and skills.
  • Shadow Branch Managers: Observe Branch Managers in action and learn from their experiences.
  • Sales and Service: Develop and maintain a strong sales culture within the branch, utilizing various management tools and techniques to achieve sales and service goals.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, coach, and develop branch staff to ensure they meet performance expectations and contribute to the branch's success.
  • Compliance: Ensure that branch staff adheres to all credit union policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Financial Management: Manage the branch budget to achieve deposit and loan growth, income/expense targets, and loss prevention goals.
  • Lending Expertise: Demonstrate strong lending skills by adhering to credit union guidelines and ensuring quality lending practices.
  • Teamwork: Foster a collaborative environment by working closely with the Assistant Branch Manager and Branch Operational Supervisor to ensure consistent communication and support.
  • Staff Development: Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for branch staff to enhance their skills in sales, service, operations, and compliance. Identify and cultivate potential leaders within the team.

  • Self-directed and able to function under limited supervision


Qualifications

  • 5+years previous banking or credit union experience to include 2 years of supervisory experience
  • Bachelor's degree in business or equivalent experience
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Desire to develop leadership skills
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn
