American Express is on an exciting multi cloud transformation journey driven today by a successful, high-energy, delivery-focused team that enables our vision of “security-as-code.” The Cloud Security organization partners with a diverse set of teams and tools to ensure public cloud security equivalency with on-premises security capabilities, methods, and processes for all cloud service models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) and workloads.
The Manager- Technical Project Management- Cloud Security Strategy and Governance will be an integral member of the Cloud Security Strategy and Governance team, working cross-functionally to consistently manage and communicate security goals and milestones for public and private cloud initiatives. The Technical Project Manager will report directly to the Director of Cloud Security Strategy & Governance and will work closely with internal team members, Information Security domain teams, and Enterprise Cloud teams to deliver security solutions to support enterprise goals. The Technical Project Mangere will aim to support a variety of objectives and initiatives while maintaining clear prioritization across these teams. This position demands a well-organized, action-oriented team player with the ability to prioritize daily work and the ability to work on multiple initiatives simultaneously, to establish and maintain an outward looking view on new and evolving technologies; and an ability to mature and operate business critical, end-to-end processes and solutions. An understanding of cloud technologies, ability to drive and deliver end-to-end process and solutions focused on great user experiences and strong interpersonal communications skills are required.
Responsibilities Include:
- Manages the planning, coordination, and execution of technology-focused projects, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and project goals
- Leads Agile release trains, coordinating with product owners, agile champions, and development teams to ensure timely and quality delivery of project milestones
- Mentors Agile Release Train (ART) meetings to ensure the preparation, readiness, and prioritization of features for future PI planning sessions
- Leads Program Increment (PI) planning meetings with TRIS leadership, product management, and delivery teams to ensure strategic alignment and readiness
- Establishes strong communications across the agile teams, stakeholders and leadership
- Closely collaborates across multiple organizations and business units, to include Enterprise Cloud, Technology Risk and Information security (TRIS), and others to drive prioritization of cloud initiatives
- Capture requirements; build functional specifications, timelines, adoption plans and other artifacts to support security implementation.
- Leads Program Management functions for Cloud Security Architecture and Engineering to drive delivery of centralized cloud security goals
- Provide guidance, coaching, and support to team members and colleagues as needs ariseto support continuous learning, growth opportunities, inclusivity, and the development of best practices
Required Skills/Experience:
- Strong Technical Project Management skills to include organization, communication, and project delivery
- Experience in managing multiple projects and coordinating cross-functional teams
- Understanding of IS disciplines including, Governance, Cyber Threat, Identity and Access, Infrastructure, Endpoint, Vulnerability, Data Protection, Operations, Application, Incident Response
- Experience in Information Security Roles preferred
- Understanding of Information Security technology and platform delivery with experience in planning and execution of security projects
- Understanding of Cloud Fundamentals, including containers, software-defined networks, high availability design, multi-cloud, and serverless compute
- Demonstrated experience in Agile environments, application design, software development, and testing
- Self-starter with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively, work closely within a coordinated team environment, and maintain composure while dealing with time sensitive deadlines
- Demonstrated expertise in leading and managing in a rapidly changing environment
- Experience in project management software tools and techniques, such as JIRA, Confluence, or similar platforms
Educational Requirement:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related field; or equivalent experience
- Information Security Certification preferred, CISM or similar
- Knowledge of Agile/SAFe methodologies
Salary Range: $110,000.00 to $190,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
