This leader will be located in our new core plant in Whitehall, MI and will be responsible for the leadership of the manufacturing engineering and automation and controls engineering group.

Job Responsibilities:

• Lead Automation initiatives to achieve product yield improvements, variation reduction, and achieve cost reduction goals related to the manufacture of ceramic cores/castings supporting all shifts
• Direct and manage the activities regarding product tool/part designs and standards
• Manage and direct the New Product Introduction (NPI) initiative ensuring product development in accordance with overall project timelines, budget, and quoted standards
• Help to develop the overall plant scrap reduction and plant productivity plan and manage the Hoshin Kanri initiatives and actions to meet the plant targets including TPM strategies to meet Plant goals
• Direct and participate in the conception, evaluation,  implementation and Execution of cost improvement, product improvement and production problem solving activities.  Support and participation in Tier 2 & 3 daily management meetings.
• Establish professional working relationship with Engineering Managers and Engineering Team at each casting facility and promote engineering team communication regarding product status and issues
• Responsible for creating an environment of engagement and fostering development of Engineering Staff through Talent Factory strategy.
• Manage training development strategies for the Engineering Staff

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution
• Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience
• Minimum of 3 years injection molding and/or robotics experience or 5 years casting experience
• Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.  Verification of employment will be required at the time of hire.  Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
