About the role:
The Manufacturing Engineer, Advanced Processes will be responsible for developing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes and systems to ensure efficient production operations while maintaining high quality standards. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in automotive manufacturing or heavy equipment industries, with expertise in robotics, PLCs, fabrication, machining and welding processes.
What you will do:
- Design, develop, and implement advanced manufacturing processes and systems. Analyze existing production workflows and recommend improvements to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance quality
- Troubleshoot manufacturing issues and implement corrective actions. Program and integrate robotic systems and PLCs into production lines
- Develop and maintain process documentation, work instructions, and quality control procedures
- Evaluate and recommend new manufacturing technologies and equipment
- Lead continuous improvement projects using lean manufacturing principles
- Support new product introduction and manufacturing transfer activities
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements
When & Where:
Monday-Friday, 6 A.M to 4 P.M.; occasional Saturday work; up to10% travel; arrival and departure time are situational dependent and may change. Must be able to wear required PPE and follow all safety protocols.
What you need to have:
- Strong communication and team collaboration abilities
- Visionary Leader - Able to see the big picture, long-term strategic thinking, problem solving, and building standards
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes including assembly, welding, and machining
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
- Demonstrated knowledge of robotics systems, PLC programming, and automation technologies
- 5 -7 years of engineering experience in automotive manufacturing (OEM, Tier 1, or Tier 2 supplier) or heavy equipment/machinery industry
- Ability to use objective reasoning and logic to find root causes to problems, and drive solutions
- Basic to extensive I.E. skills in time and motion analysis, capacity planning
What would be nice to have:
- Experience with Industry 4.0 technologies and smart manufacturing systems
- Knowledge of Six Sigma methodologies (Green Belt or Black Belt certification a plus)
- Experience with manufacturing execution systems (MES)
- Lean manufacturing, 5S principles, OEE, CAPEX, line design experience preferred
