JOB SUMMARY:

As a member of the CorroHealth Product Management Team, the Coding Automation Data Analyst will focus on promoting team efficiencies and adaptability with proactive cross-functional communication and meticulous attention to detail. This team member will be required to maintain a successful track record of accomplishing projects on time and within project restraints. The position calls for a highly motivated individual who’s committed to working closely with team members to manage expectations and cultivate lasting partnerships.
The Coding Automation Data Analyst will regularly collaborate across teams and departments to complete ongoing and new coding automation projects. In this role, you’ll assist in optimizing the project process, and ensure adherence to the quality assurance framework across all teams.

Qualified candidates must have experience in medical coding and auditing.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential Functions:

  • Meet productivity streams for ongoing and new coding automation
  • Participate in project meetings and develop project plans and goals
  • Present creative compliant solutions to improving coding automation accuracy and consistency
  • Collaborate with product owners and team members to set ambitious but achievable goals
  • Multitask across automation projects to ensure that all projects are kept on schedule
  • Prepare, check and coordinate documentation to support project
  • Gather requirements for ongoing and new projects and organize details for management
  • Track project changes with detailed notes to help stakeholders’ access and analyze key information
  • Compile reports and record activities for projects as part of comprehensive, compliance-driven recordkeeping strategy
  • Conduct thorough research using diverse resources to assist in improving accuracy and consistency of coding automation
  • Produce highly accurate internal and external communication
  • Create and update logs and executive summaries to maintain current, accurate and compliant documentation
  • Promote high level of support and service to others through medical coding knowledge and/research
  • Stay up to date on documented company and project standards
  • Support regulatory compliance by ensuring that all projects adhere to guidelines
  • Work with support teams to resolve issues with product, service or other areas
  • Train, coach and mentor new staff to ensure smooth adoption of project and/or audit processes
  • Assist in design curriculum and all supportive learning management training materials to enhance teaching sessions
  • Potentially develop paper/electronic training material for internal, vendor or client needs as it relates to coding automation workflows
  • Interpret guidelines regarding CMS, Medicare, state, and other coding related healthcare legislation in order to stay abreast of training and curriculum needs
  • Create and develop manuals for training and user manuals related to coding automation and quality assurance processes
  • Accurately apply diagnosis and procedure codes utilizing ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT-4, and HCPCS during project validation and ongoing focused reviews
  • Identify the importance of documentation on code assignment and the subsequent reimbursement impact
  • Align conduct with AAPC and/or AHIMA’s Standards of Ethical Coding and the Company’s Code of Ethics and Business Conduct and support the Company’s Ethics and Compliance Program
  • Interpret coding guidelines for accurate code assignment
  • Comply with all internal policies and procedures
  • Actively participate in Company provided training and education
  • Ensure individual compliance with all privacy and security rules and regulations and commit to the protection of all Company confidential information, including but not limited to, Personal Health Information

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology
  • Advanced proficiency in ICD-10- CM, CPT-4 and ICD-10- PCS coding
  • Advanced knowledge and ability to use PowerPoint and Microsoft Office including Word, and Excel.
  • Familiarity with Viso helpful.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal, written and communication skills

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • AHIMA Certification RHIA, RHIT, or Coding Certification required
  • Certification ICD-10-CM, CPT-4, and HCPCS
  • A minimum of 5 years demonstrated coding quality experience desired
  • Knowledge and experience interpreting healthcare related legislation
  • Experience working remotely
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite of products

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Regular eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity is required to operate office equipment. The ability to perform work at a computer terminal for 6-8 hours a day and function in an environment with constant interruptions is required. At times, Team Members are subject to sitting for prolonged periods. Infrequently, Team Member must be able to lift and move material weighing up to 20 lbs. Team Member may experience elevated levels of stress during periods of increased activity and with work entailing multiple deadlines.
