The base hourly rate for this position is $24.44.

OPERATOR 1

DESCRIPTION:

Johns Manville is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of Production Operator. The Operations person will operate the production line and packaging systems (different stages of the manufacturing process). The South Gate, CA location is part of the Roofing Systems Group that serves the entire Pacific Region. We manufacture commercial/industrial modified Bitumen roofing systems. Our products are APP (Atactic Polypropylene), SBS (Styrene), BUR (Built Up Roofing), and Self Adhered modified roofing membranes. We stock Fesco and ISO insulation board and BUR membranes made at other Johns Manville production facilities.

The base hourly rate for Operator 1 is: $24.44/Hr.

Responsibilities:

Operate the Palletizing and Packaging systems. Applicant must be knowledgeable on Lock-Tag/Clear-Try (LTCT) safety process. Must be comfortable operating packaging and shrink oven systems, lifting and bending and safely working with hot asphalt. Know how to work with different materials. Identify the different products once trained. Identify the different product labeling. Able to identify warehouse locations for product storage. Follow and complete all safety requirements (Pure Safety / Safety Pro-Metrics). Preferred if applicant has OSHA Forklift Certification. Must have been forklift trained and certified to operate a forklift from prior job history. IMMEDIATE Opening -- If you meet the above requirements, logon at www.jm.com and apply on-line.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT SUMMARY:

The Operator position performs several duties, including, but not limited to, following written and verbal instructions and making decisions using good judgment based on prevailing conditions. The job requires the employee to be OSHA Forklift trained and certified with the ability to lift 55 lbs. and work rapidly in a production environment. The employee must be able to read, write, and possess good communication skills. The job requires that the employee must be able to work safely and follow all safety rules. Employees must work from general instructions from the plant management team, and all levels within the organization in support of the four Johns Manville core values: People, Passion, Performance, and Protection.
