The Certified Pharmacy Technician supports the clinical pharmacists with daily administrative and patient-care activities. Primary responsibilities include communicating with patients, clinics, dispensing pharmacies and health plans. The Pharmacy Technician will leverage their pharmaceutical knowledge to support our Adherence program, which will identify barriers to patients taking medication as prescribed. This position may perform additional duties as needed to meet service objectives and client needs.


Major Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Conduct outreach to patients flagged for non-adherence.
  • Handle all calls in a confidential manner with strict adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Verify patient's demographic information and accurately enter into patient chart.
  • Complete system workflow by identifying and documenting barriers to adherence under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
  • Communicate in a professional manner with both patient and patient's healthcare team.
  • Maintain department productivity levels for customer satisfaction and performance goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required by manager.
  • Renew Pharmacy Technician registration with the BOP prior to December 31st each year.
  • Recertify Pharmacy Technician Certification with the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) every 2 years.
  • Provide institutional knowledge and support to Care Center, as needed.
  • Performs other projects, work, and activities, as assigned, to support quality and efficiency.
  • Manage time efficiently to accomplish all tasks in a timely manner.
  • Assists the Clinical Pharmacy Manager with program needs.
  • Assists with organization and development of periodic agenda-driven team meetings within the Care Center.
  • Coordinates work with the Clinical Pharmacy Manager, Pharmacy Operations Manager, Intern Coordinator and Patient Engagement Manager as necessary.


Educational or Skills Requirements:

  • Certified Pharmacy Technician registered with the MN Board of Pharmacy (in good standing)
  • 2+ years' experience in a pharmacy
  • 2+ years' experience using Microsoft Office products
  • Required Skills:
