The Team

Fidelity Charitable is looking for a Portfolio Position and Transaction Operations Analyst to join the Investment Operations team as a contractor for Giving Season 2024

You will be focused primarily on reviewing transactions in managed accounts held at 3-5 third-party custodians. Throughout the day, you will review transactions that meet certain thresholds to confirm accuracy in Advent and to identify and communicate money movement in and out of managed accounts.  You will be responsible for reviewing and manually updating transactions in the portfolio accounting system due to account details that are missing or are inaccurate. You will open XTRACs to communicate money movement to the Premium Service group at Fidelity Charitable. You will be a part of the daily review of large changes in the portfolio balances and analyze the reason behind this change. You will also help to ensure that downstream, internal systems have accurate daily balances for managed accounts in preparation for statement production and Fidelity Charitable’s audit of investment accounts.

Special Note:
This position will be required to participate in Dynamic Working and be present in either Westlake TX or Durham NC regional office for 2 company specified weeks out of every 4 weeks. This contract is expected to end on January 31, 2025 unless it is deemed that there is an opportunity to extend it on a  month by month basis.
This position occurs during our busiest and most demanding time of the year. We will observe the following Federal Holidays: Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Day. Outside of those holidays, illness, or extenuating circumstances, there is an expectation to work M – F, 9 – 5:30 local time. There may be expectations of limited over time and it may not be possible to provide prior notice.

The Expertise You Have
 

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • At least 2 years of experience in financial services, portfolio accounting and/or position reconciliation in the finance industry

  • Confidence in advanced Excel skills (especially vlookup and pivot tables)
  • Strong attention to detail while operating under tight deadlines
  • Strong multi-tasking and problem-solving skills with excellent follow through
  • Strong organizational, planning and time management skills
  • Strong and effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience following, documenting, and enhancing processes and procedures
  • Experience in Advent APX or another portfolio accounting system/software, a plus
  • Experience in investment operations and/or back-office support, a plus

The Value You Deliver
 

  • Research and identify contributions into managed accounts
  • Review accuracy of transactional records daily, including researching drivers of activity using custodian systems
  • Ability to validate daily account activity in Advent APX by reviewing external account information to characterize and ensure it is recorded accurately on internal systems
  • Ability to explain daily changes in market value of accounts by validating to money movement activity and security market fluctuations
  • Creation of XTRAC items to internally communicate money movement in/out of managed accounts
  • Update positions/transactions data in portfolio accounting system, as needed
  • Identify and recommend process improvements
