Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Extractive Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering or related field with knowledge of hydrometallurgy and minerals processing and experience that compliments the requirements of the position.

Job Summary

The Department of Mining Engineering at the University of Kentucky is inviting applications for a post-doctoral position in the area of extractive metallurgy. The successful applicant will assist with research projects in critical materials recovery, mineral processing, coal beneficiation and secondary material recycling. A particular emphasis will involve the design, development and testing of solvent extraction circuits and other purification technologies for a variety of critical elements. Responsibilities will include proposal development, experimental program oversight, data analysis, report development and peer-reviewed article production. The training and education of graduate and undergraduate students will be required.
