Position Summary

JCB Inc seeks a Principal Development Engineer, in Pooler, GA to research, develop, test, and evaluate JCB's products and equipment to meet JCB and customer requirements. This role will require test and development of parts and systems to support two active production lines at JCB, ensuring our products conform to internal, external, and military standards by liaising with the design team to support configuration change on a six (6) month contract.

 Position Qualifications

  • We require a minimum of five years of test experience within the heavy equipment manufacturing industry as well as hands-on experience with developing systems, processes, methodologies, and overall machine performance, including experience with a wide variety of hand and power tools including lathe, welding equipment, oxy acetylene cutting, overhead crane, hydraulic hose cutting and crimping and measuring equipment.
  • Among these five years, two years of experience conducting and writing conformance evidence to international standards of off highway equipment; i.e SAE, ISO, and EN. Among these three years, two years of experience engaged in prototype machine and component testing; calibration of measuring equipment; generating development records and test reports; implementing machine and component test programs; as well as procurement of materials and components for test equipment.
  • Among these five years, one year experience with assembling and maintaining development/prototype machines or prototype machine parts; conducting mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic fitting work; and building machine/component test rigs. Extensive knowledge of diagnostic, instrumentation, data acquisition/processing software in the areas of hydraulic, structural, electronic/electrical systems is required. An operational knowledge of DVPSOR and lean manufacturing process and its application is required.
  • We require previous experience of managing a team, this role will involve test programs supported by Development Engineers, XP Fitters & Technicians.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Competencies

  • Knowledge and experience with JCB and Military test standards preferred.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks while maintaining sense of urgency
  • Must take direction well and work with minimal supervision
  • Excellent people and customer service skills with a positive attitude
  • Effective project management and problem solving skills
