
Principal Software Engineer (Mainframe and Java)

As a Principal Software Engineer, you will be a senior member on the team, expected to contribute to the technical leadership and center of excellence within the Workplace Investing’s (WI) Stock Plan Services group.
Education & Experience
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Software engineering or related field
- 10+ years of hands-on experience with mainframe and distributed platforms.
- At least 3 years of technical leadership experience.
- Provide support in a distributed environment, Cloud (Azure), Java, Oracle, K8S, Datadog/Splunk, ETL.
- Provide support in a mainframe environment, using COBOL, DB2, CICS, JCL, MQ-Series, SQL, and VSAM files.
- Prior experience providing technical and functional guidance/leadership to the team is a must for this role.
- Experience in designing and building new solutions and enhancing existing systems.
- Experience working in a highly collaborative environment would be a big plus.
- Having business knowledge of Stock Plan Services (SPS) is preferred.
- Ability to quickly learn new concepts and technologies to support day to day operations.
- Demonstrate ability to form trusted working relationships with business unit stakeholders through collaboration and enhanced effective communications
- Analytical & detail orientated thought process with the ability to take methodical approach to activities such as problem resolution, designing and solutioning.
- Demonstrated ability to articulate and explain complex problems or solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications or subsystems.
