Overview

Who We Are
We’re not here to maintain the status quo – we’re here to rewrite it and innovate at the pace of need. Our team is laser-focused on creating cutting-edge RFID solutions for the DoD that bring passive and active RFID tech to life, solving tough integration challenges across global sites. We're a no-bench, get-after-it kind of company where initiative is rewarded, and innovation is our default setting. If you’re ready to dive in, take ownership, and ship real value, keep reading.

The Opportunity
We’re looking for a Principal Software Engineer - Tech Lead to steer our technical direction and inspire a team of skilled developers. You’ll lead a high-performing development team to craft front-end applications and design business logic that integrates seamlessly with RFID hardware. But this isn’t just about building stuff in a vacuum – it’s about getting hands-on with customers, collaborating to solve bespoke challenges, and creating solutions that directly impact DoD missions.

This role is equal parts strategic thinker, technical collaborator, and product evangelist. If you thrive in ambiguity, love building something from the ground up, and want to make a tangible difference, we want you.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do

  • Lead by Example: Architect scalable solutions, write clean, maintainable code, and guide your team in implementing best practices.
  • Hands-On Development: Build robust, secure applications leveraging Vue, .NET, AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes.
  • Drive Innovation: Solve complex technical challenges with creative, scalable solutions.
  • Connect with Customers: Travel (lightly) to end-user sites to gather insights, validate designs, and make sure what we build actually solves the problem.
  • Mentor and Grow Talent: Support junior engineers by sharing knowledge, conducting code reviews, and fostering a culture of learning.
  • Help Groom the Backlog: Prioritize like a boss. Assist the product owner in technically scoping  epics, user stories, and tasks, ensuring the team ships impactful features, fast.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Work hand-in-hand with engineers, designers, and stakeholders to keep the lines of communication open and the product trajectory sharp.

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For

  • 8+ years of experience as a Software Engineer, deploying applications into production.
  • Technical Leadership: A proven track record of mentoring engineers and owning technical outcomes.
  • Proficiency in programming languages and frameworks such as Vue, .NET, .NET Core, C#, Java, or JavaScript.
  • Familiar with modern cloud architecture and deploying secure, scalable applications in AWS using Kubernetes and Docker.
  • Demonstrated experience deploying and maintaining APIs on AWS infrastructure.
  • Ability to learn new languages and technologies.
  • Experience leading agile teams and managing backlogs.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity with a smile and figure out the path forward.
  • Top-notch communication skills to manage stakeholders, inspire teams, and advocate for the product.
  • U.S. citizenship required. Ability to obtain a Secret clearance (Active clearance? Even better).

Bonus Points For:

  • Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD or equivalent).
  • Hands-on experience with RFID technology.
  • BS Degree or degree in computer science or systems engineering preferred
  • A proven track record of delivering solutions in DoD or similarly complex environments.

Why Join Us?
At our company, you’ll have the freedom to innovate, the tools to execute, and the support of a team that’s as passionate as you are. Plus, we don’t just reward hard work – we celebrate it.

  • Competitive salary.
  • Flexible, remote-first culture with some travel for customer engagement.
  • A "take as you need" PTO policy – we trust you to manage your time.
  • Opportunities to grow, learn, and shape a truly game-changing product.
