Principal Operating Systems Programmer

The Role

The Experience and Skill You Bring

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.

  • 8+ years of experience in z/OS systems programming and support.

  • Proven experience in supporting core z/OS operating systems, including system utilities.

  • Extensive experience with the installation and support of a wide range of ISV products, with in-depth knowledge of SMP/E.

  • Proficiency in coding JCL and REXX; knowledge of other languages is a plus.

  • Experience with Parallel Sysplex and Coupling Facilities.

  • Expertise in Disaster Recovery solutions such as GDPS (Global Mirror & Metro Mirror).

  • Experience working in the z/OS USS environment including maintain ZFS filesystems and shell scripting.

  • Familiarity with scripting languages like Python, XML, JSON, and Ansible is advantageous.

  • Experience with zOSMF.

The Team

The Mainframe Operating System Support team is dedicated to building and enhancing Fidelity’s mainframe platform, with stability as our guiding principle. As a Principal Operating Systems Programmer, you will be a key member of a dynamic onshore and offshore team, continuously improving our mainframe platform by keeping software up-to-date and implementing enhancements and features. You will have the opportunity to contribute innovative ideas to enhance our products, develop your skills on state-of-the-art mainframe systems, and learn new technologies and languages. We are seeking highly motivated individuals who thrive in a collaborative, iterative, and fast-paced environment.
